Suggesting the multi-city model for the CWG.

I think it's sensible: clearly the days of huge new facilities for everything are gone for the foreseeable.

Glasgow will replace the 1500 with a mile for both sexes.

Gotta say I'd prefer they leave it as is.

I'm actually sort of okay with it? If there's one major championship that should have the mile surely it's the CWG.

And the mile remains a really popular distance at the pro level, so it's not like they are plucking it from obscurity.

Glasgow 2026 Medal Event Programme (subject to change)

In athletics, the mile replaces the 1,500 meters and the men and women’s 4 x 400 meters are replaced with a mixed 4 x 400 meters relay.

No weight classes in boxing yet.

Only singles and pairs events in lawn bowls.

There are 18 events in cycling due to the introduction of the men and women’s elimination race.

Men’s 800 freestyle and women’s 1,500 freestyle added to the swimming program.

Really can't understand this. It's a pity we won't defend our Women's Fours Title from 2022 Games

Probably a casualty of reduced athlete numbers because they're not building an athlete's village.

Can someone confirm they are not dropping the men's and women's 4 x 400 relays from the athletics programme?

One of the sources I follow say only the mixed 4 x 400 will be held but I'm not convinced that's true

    • this is not funny at all, pal
    • I think I can live with the draw , not a bad group at all. just a week ago our mafia coach said his dream group is Belgium, Egypt and Haiti, he almost got that !   but it's really hard for me (and so many others) to cheer for this team, A mafia boss coach, disgusting group of players. I never had this feeling about any NT in any sport before but still the national team is the national team. you have to like it  coaches and players come and go, the team is what matters.   if the team makes it to the competition, I'm sure there will be lots of Iranians in the stadium despite the orange's ban, that will never be a problem.
