How embarrassing for him to act like that just to then almost be lapped. He must feel really ashamed right now.

He only started his season last month due to achilies injury and that was just his 4th race of the year so hardly surprising that he didn't have the speed endurance that he needed to run back to back races at a global championship. Absolutely nothing for him to be ashamed of.

Very unlucky world championships for Canada (and Italy of course), all those 4th places. Luckily for them they won 2 golds, but of course those were expected.

Insane world championships for GB, they convert all their medal chances and even win unexpected medals. Pretty much the same happened in swimming. They are certainly among the best in the world (maybe alongside Australia) when it comes to performing at their best on day X. Of course the times in men's 400 m were pretty slow and Gardiner was clearly missing.

Tonight I learned, Femke Bol is a former judoka. Surprised a bit, I expected more speed skating or cycling

 Little wins silver in 52.80, and  Clayton wins bronze in a new PB of 52.81. 

 

 Adekoya 53.09 NR in 4th.
