The Spanish club CA Osasuna is eligible to participate in the 2023/24 UECL

On 4 July 2023, within the admission process to the 2023/24 UEFA club competitions, CA Osasuna was declared ineligible to participate in the 2023/24 UEFA Europa Conference League (UECL) in application of Article 4.02 of the UEFA Europa Conference League Regulations (UECLR).

Following the opening of Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) proceedings, evidence was submitted by CA Osasuna which it was not in a position to file at an earlier stage. UEFA reviewed this material and concluded that CA Osasuna has not been involved in match-fixing activities in the meaning of Article 4.02 UECLR. Accordingly, the Club shall be considered eligible to participate in the 2023/24 UECL for which it sportingly qualified. The procedure before CAS has been terminated by a Consent Award.

Finally, following a separate investigation conducted by a UEFA Ethics and Disciplinary Inspector, separate disciplinary proceedings have been opened by UEFA against CA Osasuna in view of the filing of a claim made by the club CA Osasuna before the ordinary state courts in Pamplona. A decision on the matter will be rendered and announced in due course.

Levski are playing Shkupi in the legendary, greatest, most advanced country of MAcEdOnIa. Who would have thought, that fans would get ambushed and attacked in Skopie... One Levski fan has been stabbed and has been in operation, while their mighty police are arresting random Levski fans without reasons.

The match will be played at their National Stadium, but you should see what the pitch looks like.

Juventus excluded from Uefa Cups for one year

During the 2022/23 season, the CFCB First Chamber, opened investigations into Juventus (ITA) for potential breaches of the UEFA Club Licensing and Financial Fair Play regulations.

The CFCB First Chamber concluded that Juventus (ITA) violated the UEFA’s regulatory framework and breached the settlement agreement signed in August 2022. As a result, the CFCB First Chamber terminated the settlement agreement concluded with the club and decided:

• to exclude Juventus from the 2023/24 UEFA men’s club competition; and

• to impose an additional financial contribution of €20 million on the club. Of this amount, €10 million is conditional and will only be enforced if the club’s annual financial statements for the financial years 2023, 2024 and 2025 do not comply with the accounting requirements as defined in Annex G of the UEFA Club Licensing and Financial Sustainability Regulations.

Football sometimes has no logic...

:SVK Spartak Trnava will play the Conference league play-off against a club playing its home games in :SVK , It is really hard to save more travel costs than this

The Ukrainian SK Dnipro-1 is playing its European cups in Košice and this year is really not lucky at all, I mean at all  Last week played the Europa League qualifyier against Czech Slavia Prague (literally had home advantage) and this time in the Conference League it will be even a Slovak team...

AZ Alkmaar beat Legia Warsaw 1-0 but two Legia players (Josue & Pankov) were arrested after the game since they allegedly caused bodily harm to one of the stadium stewards :mumble: In return Legia owner claims he was hit by the Dutch police when he tried to intervene and find out what's going on.

Not sure if it was the NOC or the biathlon federation (I assume the latter) that put him in the Livigno training 'world' with a former Italian biathlete as coach, but they can definitely also be blamed:  almost everyone involved in that shitshow got the motivation just sucked out of them by the methods and shitty atmosphere until they either retired or changed country

    • Lots of injuries, including often just pure bad-luck stuff like a fall from a set of stairs, illness, and of course the Sochi tragedy in 2014: one of her biathlon friends, young Julia Pieper, killed herself with a biathlon rifle early during the Olympics (she wasn't on the team, but was a training partner of both Preuss and Dahlmeier). Obviously a hard hit, which led to terrible Olympics for Preuss, with a DNF, awful results in her other individual races and a relay where she was the first runner for Germany, but fell early on, got snow in her rifle and broke a pole and ended up losing almost 3 minutes, which in turn resulted in Germany being off the podium for the first time ever.   After that came all the injuries and illness and everything. So glad to finally see her have her big individual global gold, that is so well deserved.

    • first win for the Italian men's relay since 2007      very good Home stage for us   if only the organizers didn't set the finals sessions at 2 p.m. (especially on Saturday), there would have been a lot more spectators on the seats
