:ARG v. :USA

:CAN v. :CHI

Men's Team

As for quota favorites, on the women's side, Brazil/United States and Chile/Puerto Rico are the favorites. On the men's side, Brazil and Chile/Puerto Rico are the favorites.

The final women's round robin will be between :BRA :CHI :PUR :USA

I know we use to be two continents, but I think it's weird that we still got two team quotas. Even in 2028 we will have at least two Pan American nations since the United States will be hosts.

Why would they have round robin after QF in a knockout format?
Very strange way to conduct a championship perhaps the only confederation with a round robin format.

The 2 quotas are justified as ITTF previously had a North American & South American confederation, which offered a single quota each.
So by merging the two confederation into 1 they kept the same quota place.
ITTF must think about merging Oceania with Asia/Africa like some sports do, that way :AUS will need to earn their quota place rather than getting a free quota and Asia/Africa teams will get to fight for an additional quota place.

Probably because we have two team quotas. It's to prevent the top two teams from meeting in the semis and then getting eliminated.

Of course with :BRA v :USA in the men's quarterfinals the whole exercise is ruined :p

Don't know what happened to :USA, their level wasn't great here (probably wouldn't qualify even if they made top 4).

Their women's team is a favourite for a quota, though. :BRA and :PUR will battle for the second quota.

Theoretically yes, but the only strong team among those 4 is :BRA

They will almost certainly get the quota here , the other 3 are not ranked high enough to get the quota place by ranking . Even getting a quota at world team championships will be tough for them. This is their best opportunity to get that quota with :USA going out in the QF stage.
