Ireland win on sort of controversy? to avenge their men. Now its all equal lol

Attacker has only 8 secs to score - the ref had indicated time up just a fraction of a second before Canada got the ball in the net.

Why :RSA would resigned from their quota in women's tournament, while men's team also takes quota at continental tournament? :mumble:

Because the men meet the NOC's selection criteria but the women did not.

Meh Canada deserves much more than Korea a place in Tokyo. The progress they have made this year is amazing. Pity it won't be rewarded.

Not just that but I fear that this is as good as the Canadian team is going to get. Field Hockey Canada just can't afford to run both a men's and a women's program at the level required to qualify to the Olympics. A lot of the players live in Belgium.

Ok, so, pools for olympic tournament...

A

Netherlands

Germany

GB

Ireland

India

South africa

B

Australia

Argentina

New Zealand

Spain

China

Japan

If RSA withdraw, Korea enters pool B and Japan moves to A.

The women clearly would be better to focus on... they can hang with some of the world's best teams, while the men will likely win at most 1 game.

Sad really, field hockey isn't as popular in Canada as ice hockey. If only the talent was there :(

    • Yeah. It was pretty bad that they cancel the contract with the original creative director after 7 months of work. I feel like politics, in this particular context of the changing of prime minister and the cabinet, may had caused changes in organizational decisions regarding the Sea Games including the direction of the opening ceremony.
    • That's what I figured.  Wouldn't be a proper lead up to an Olympics without some media-fueled fearmongering.
