Belgium and Italy aren't so good that you can say they won't lose to these teams. Especially Italy with all the injuries.

Italy team is a joke... we haven't chance this year

Have some faith :p Italy needs to get out of the group, and after that we know what usually happens. :)

absolutely not , so you mean he will win against Belgium & Italy

 in your dream

1: Retiring in the middle of a tournament would be a crazy idea and though Zlatan is a bit of a special person, I'm a 100 % sure that he will not do so.

2: Zlatan has the chance of being the first player to score in 4 Euro's (so could C. Ronaldo). If he scores 2 he can't be equalized. He could even end up as the top goalscorer of the history (though I doubt that will happen). Zlatan is the kind of person who wants to break records and make his status as legend even clearer, an will surely not give up on these.

3: As others say. Be careful with the other 2 teams. Sure, they are both favourites against Sweden, especially with Belgium mentioned as a medal contender, but they are not unbeatable, especially when you have Zlatan on your team. We have seen bigger surprises than it would be!

4: A draw could even be enough for qualifying (I doubt it will be, but it could be)

Ahh damn.... we played great for 50 minutes and then tried to defend a 1-0 lead.... disappointing in that aspect.

In the bigger picture though it's not a disaster, lots for both teams still to play for in the rest of the group :yes

They depend on Belgium or Italy not fulfilling their potential. Italy still has a much better squad than Ireland and Sweden, though without Verratti and Marchisio they lack creativity in central midfield. But who knows, maybe Italy will fail as they did in 2010 in a weak Group.

    • Of the top teams the world with traditions, only Portugal didn`t play in 3 World Cups in a row: 1986-2002 (1990, 1994 and 1998), but then fewer teams played in the World Cup than now. I don't really remember what caused the crisis in Portuguese football in the 1990s or how it was done with this later? Perhaps we should follow their example?
    • Well... If not qualifying for the World Cup for the third consecutive time isn't enough to bring about change in Italy, I can't imagine what will be.
    • Gravina is simply stupid and probably has some kind of hold over other important key figures in Italian football, since he was elected in 2024 with a majority of over 90% of the votes... I have a hard time imagining it any other way. Compared to him, even Carraro, Berlusconi and Moggi seem like nice and kind gentlemens   Some people believe that Calciopoli in 2006 began the decline of Italian football and that may be true. It only got worse from there, not counting a single accidental Euro 2021 win- something similar to Greece in 2004. In 2009 Roberto Baggio prepared a 900-page report on necessary reforms in Italian football, but the then-FIGC board tossed it into the trash bin. Now we see the consequences...
    • I thought our former football President was greedy, selfish, power hungry and delusional, but apparently he has an equal counterpart in Gravina. Some people just lack common decency.
    • Well, it's possible that Italians may be more bitter towards short track officials after the robbery they perpetrated against Sighel at the Olympics and therefore more willing to comment and criticize them, but it doesn't make the decision any less ridiculous.   Also, the fact we are Italians, and therefore used to the low standards of football refereeing, makes us especially qualified and trained to identify biased/crooked/incompetent judging
    • I think it was never in the history of our sport has there been anyone as brazen and stupid as Gravina. Before presidents would resign, or at least hide for a while, rather than go into a full-blow scandalous attitude with full larrogance and pride. I hope this idiot gets fired anyway, even if he doesn't resign.
