Federer91 2,140 Posted May 24, 2023 #963 Share Posted May 24, 2023 Not really IOC news, but couldn't find a better thread for this. FIS are going to introduce their own 2 weeks special event - The FIS Games - every 4 years beginning from 2028 in one location. It is going to include both Olympic and Non-Olympic events. https://pbs.twimg.com/media/Fw09NLcXwBASwIM?format=jpg&name=large https://pbs.twimg.com/media/Fw09X7cXwA40CnL?format=jpg&name=large intoronto

I wonder if the FIS will change the format.

They should take a page out of the ICF’s book and just have teams of three complete a timed run down the competition piste for each discipline Edited May 24, 2023 by Olympian1010 “Sport has the power to change the world. Monzanator 3,598 Posted May 24, 2023 #966 Share Posted May 24, 2023 The alpine skiing team event only has any sense if they make it a combined event with athletes in speed/tech events. The parallel format has been exposed as a joke, one course is always better and makes it completely unfair and prone to manipulating especially since they ditched the real time gaps after run 1. Just kill this format off and move on...
NearPup 2,167 Posted May 24, 2023 #967 Share Posted May 24, 2023 Looks like the FIS has also approved making the alpine combined a team event starting next season, so still one run of Downhill and one run of Slalom but now with a different athlete skiing each leg.
