Will she finish 14th or higher? That's a selection requirement from SASCOC.

yes, she's guaranteed a top 6 finish, if I'm not wrong about the competition format (in any case, there are only 12 girls left, so she can't be worse than 12th)...

Nice to know, I did not know that. But, yes. If she gets the worst position, she'll be in the 8th place

sure? those in round #6 should be 6th at worst...

correct me, if I'm wrong...

the top 2 in round 6 will advance to the final, meanwhile the 3rd and 4th ranked should go to the repechage #10 with only 1 heat of 4 surfers (and the top 2 advancing to the final, meanwhile the 3rd and 4th ranked should end the competition as 5th and 6th)...

because repechage 9 should feature only 1 heat of 4 surfers, the top 2 of the 2 rep. 8 heats (with 2 advancing from rep. 9 to rep. 10)...

7th and 8th overall should be the 2 rep. 9 losers...

Yeah, that's it

My mistake. This format it's a little bit confusing

I thought that if she loss, she was going to repechage 9. She goes directly to repechage 10.

yeah, they like to make it really complicated...I think the WSL format is way better than this...heats, head-to-head repechage and then a simple knockout stage with no further complication...

by the way, this is a quick recap of the women's tournament so far...

the 12 girls still in contention are:

round 6
:BRA Silvana Lima
:BRA Tatiana Weston-Webb
:RSA Bianca Buitendag
:PER Sofia Mulanovich

repechage 8A
:ISR Anat Lelior
:AUS Stephanie Gilmore
:AUS Sally Fitzgibbons
:USA Courtney Conlogue

repechage 8B
:USA Caroline Marks
:CRC Brisa Hennessy
:USA Carissa Moore
:AUS Nikki Van Dijk

as explained in the posts above, the competition format is quite complicated...

- the top 2 of the round #6 heat will advance directly to the Final

- the 3rd and 4th ranked of the round #6 heat will be relegated to the repechage heat #10

- the top 2 of the repechage heats #8A and 8B will advance to the repechage heat #9

- the 3rd and 4th ranked of the repechage heats #8A and #8B are eliminated and ranked from 9th to 12th place in the overall standings

- the top 2 of the repechage heat #9 will advance to the repechage heat #10

- the 3rd and 4th ranked in the repechage heat #9 are eliminated and ranked 7th and 8th respectively in the overall standings

- the top 2 of the repechage heat #10 will advance to the Final

- the 3rd and 4th ranked in the repechage heat #10 are eliminated and ranked 5th and 6th respectively in the overall standings

- the 4 girls contesting the Final are ranked accordingly to the results of that heat...the top 3 will get Gold, Silver and Bronze medal respectively...

I hope you didn't get too much of a headache, now...:yikes::facepalm:

This world will give 1 plaza by continent , for those athletes who do not qualify through the Champions Tour 2019 and 2020 world championship and are among the world's top 30 2019. This is why you will not know for whom is the square until the end of the world 2020

The square union in principle is for Israel but my question is who would be the 1st book union, because the following are the Dutch and Spanish 2 and have fallen into the same round of repescas. If the Israelite classified in the 2020 world or would have a vacancy for who would be the square of the 1st reservation?

good question

I've read a lot of qualification systems and, sometimes, this blows my mind  But, if I'm not wrong, in this case they will not use this quota from ISA Games 2019 and add another quota in ISA Games 2020.

I'll try to find this answer

    • It may also be that Ceccerelli saw that the conditions in the Italian youth teams were very poor and that is why she insisted on setting up her own team. A private team will always be better than a team with 10-12 skiers, each with 4 coaches, a doctor and a physiotherapist. Colturi is the only skier in her team and she has several coaches, a masseur, a doctor etc. Of course, it costs money, but since the parents are famous and have money + Red Bull got involved. I don't understand why she can't start for Italy again? Red Bull should care more that Colturi starts in Cortina under the Italian flag than the Albanian one + Red Bull, as a brand, always has a bigger sales market in Italy with a population of 60 million than in small Albania. I hope that this can still be reversed by next year. For this we need talks between the federation + Colturi's parents + Red Bull + possibly the Italian Olympic Committee. Colturi may be a skier equal to Brignone or even better. We can't lose her, so we have to do now!
    • I`m very disappointed with this weekend. Only becouse of Ghiotto form I`m happy. Unfortunately, the women's team will not function well if Lollobrigida skips most of the training camps and Fontana starts alternately in short tack and long track. It will end with her not winning any medals here or there, because it`s already clear that it will be very difficult to achieve good results in long track. I hope that she understands this, because in short track she has a real chance of winning medals in the women's relay and the mixed relay but in long track not.
    • Tragic performance of the Italian women's team - last place and probably something bad happened at the start. There are so few starts in the team that it will be a problem to even qualify for the World Championships - 8 best teams. After Lollobrigida's return and Fontana's addition, I was counting on much more, but it seems that there are too few joint trainings. With individual quality, we have no right to lose to the Czechs without Sablikova, or anonymous Korea. And unfortunately this start will count for a lot, because there are only 2 more and our chances of playing at the World Championships are minimal. In my opinion with Fontana going from Short Track to Long Trackand vice versa, we won't be much use in the team. Here great teamwork is needed, not improvisation. As of today, there is very little chance that we will qualify the women's team for the games.
    • men advanced to Division A for the first time since 2018 (when they went 1-8). Don't expect much progress next year
    • Ok, but there we are talking about a person who has parents from different countries. Colturi has nothing to do with Albania.
    • There are few people here from Austria, Switzerland, Norway and Finland.
    • The worst editions in XXI century for us were Vancouver: 5 medals (only 1 gold for Razzoli's on the penultimate day) and Sochi: 8 medals (but no gold). Turin was already a prelude to this bad period, although the number of gold medals was ok. Overall we won fewer medals at home than in 2002 and this was probably the only case in the 21st century when the host country won fewer medals at home than 4 years earlier, either in summer or winter. In general the years 2008-2016 were very bad in our sport, both in summer and winter. Only 2018 in Korea was a slight rebuild + 2 fantastic summer editions in Tokyo and Paris. in Beijing 2022 we won a lot of medals - 17 but only 2 gold (If it weren't for Gogga's injury, I think it would have been 4 gold).
    • Totallympics had  users at one point, but I haven't seen any hanging around in a while.
    • In terms of total medals, yes. In terms of golds, I’d be fine with anywhere from 6-8.   @intoronto you don’t think we’ll do better or at least the same? Bit surprising.
    • Tadeucci was very good and took bronze
