16 nations will fight for the quotas in women's c1

:CHN and :AUS  are the 2 new nations to add to the list of SF qualifiers from earlier in the day

12 European nations.

If NL were to get the quota and our Olympic Committee would decide to take it up, AFAIK this would be the first time a Dutch Canoe would participate in the `Olympics.

So, if Zwolińska will take quota in C1, then she will ineligible to qualify in K1? Why? Quotas are for NOC'S, not for athletes :mumble:

Quotas are for NOCs, but a paddler can win only 1 quota

Remember, unlike the previous Olympics, this time the paddler/National Federation/NOC cannot choose in which discipline he/she prefers the quota place, the NOC will instead gets it automatically in the first event it gets (so in this case C1, as it is decided a day before the K1).

On the other hand, every paddler who qualify can then start in Paris in all competitions if he wish (in K1 and C1, however, under the condition that only one boat will start per country),

So even if let say Zwolinska win the C1 quota here, she will be allowed to compete also in K1 and Kayak Cross in Paris. However, the best option for you would be ofc to Stach to win today C1 quota and Zwolinska tomorrow the K1 spot

So, if :AND Doria-Vilarrubla, :POL Zwolinska, :UKR Us and :USA Leibfarth today will qualify in WC1, the quota in WK1 will be allocated today?

Yep, theoretically. such a scenario would be possible in such a case

Could you please write me what is the rule for qualification for olympics?

How many boats from today and tomorrow and Sunday? I know one boat per one NOC, but how many NOC?

12 C1, 15 K1

+ 1 highest non-qualified boat per event from the European Games (remember it must be another athlete than the one who win the quota here)

Remember guys. This sport has 15 minutes of results neutralization ! meaning the 15 minutes after the race is complete, there place for protests and also since last 2 season the video referees themselves have 15 minutes to signalize a possible hit/missing the gate and thus change the results.

So the results are official only once all those protests/requests ended or after the mandatory "neutralizations" 15 minutes after the race.

    • yeah I know    I mean it wasn't a different team specific for that sport. it was the same CC team participating in both sports.
    • It is run by a different federation though
    • from what I heard , Iran has registered to participate in Alpine, CC skiing, SkiMo, Skating (they didn't mention which discipline ) and ... (this one will be surprising ) ... Curling    Curling is not a sure thing yet, the NOC has to approve it. the team is very new. I mean very very new, only few months ago they gathered few people to start the sport  you can't lose 100-0 in Curling, right ?    anyway it will be first time ever Iran participating outside of FIS disciplines. ( I didn't count Ski orienteering in 2011 which was the same as CC)   nobody cares about winter sports here. therefore finishing last won't have consequences. they can afford sending very weak teams. (which is not the case for the main Asian Games)

    • 100 days to go until the first multi-sports games of the 2025
    • 11 medals out of 15 athletes. for whatever reason  we sent an incomplete team of 16 athletes (only 1 left for tomorrow) I wish I knew why  I can guess though   the result is indeed very good in such a competitive sport but lack of talent was never our problem in taekwondo. it was always there probably much more than any other country.    but the problem is the transition to the senior team. most of previous junior world champions never even made the senior team. (the new federation is doing better in this regard though)
    • Maybe my analogy was bad. I meant a team points competition based on individual placements in each event.
    • But why? Honestly it should be about athletes.
    • I actually feel like it has the potential to be good change. The new brand identities might open up more possibilities for merchandise. I also think the ISU could create a compelling team standings competition similar to the constructors cup in F1.   Plus, it might add a degree of “apolitical-ness” to the top level international short track, during a time where that’s been a hot topic in international sports (in general).    Maybe it won’t work at all, but I’m open to seeing where the ISU go with this.
