How is this fair. Which criteria will they use? Bulgarian rower should be eligible.

Realistically this is only an administrative issue. Under the terms of the qualification document, World Rowing will write to the NOCs within the next week to confirm the quotas that have been won at the World Champs - with the "neutral" athletes, that isn't going to be possible. Given the IOC clearly want Russia/Belarus to be in Paris, the quota will not be confirmed until they can figure out the logistics of making that happen.

However if neutral Belarussians are not allowed to attend or decide that the restrictions placed on them are too great so they tell the IOC to F***-Off, then the quota will be reallocated to Bulgaria - but the chances that it will be a while before the issue is resolved.

Is there an information when this quota will be distributed? I think Bulgarian rowing federation has to act fast. Any other distribution of it instead of bulgarian rower will be incorrect.

According to the qualification pathway document, as the quota was won at the World Championships, it should be reallocated to the next athlete from the World Champs - so it would go to Bulgaria.

I know that in doucments is a NOC, but they let enter BUL/RUS to gain quotas in individual events. If it will be final alocation for me it will be in Final Regatta.

The commentators at the official stream explained just after the finish that AINs cannot win quotas. But if thay finish at the quota position the World Rowing will not award this quota to other NOC at the moment. They will have to decide later how to deal with it. So there 3 ways:

1)  Add it to the Final Regatta as Adriano has mentioned (most probable)

2) Reallocate to the Bulgarian rower - but yes, Bulgarian rowing federation has to act fast and insist on it.

3) Return it to AIN later (which looks questionable)

And it is only the first qualififcation event with AINs. Let`s imagine what chaos will happen at the World Wrestling Championships.

Hope they will act according to these document.

Because United Wotld Wrestling ignored similar document on Wrestling qualification for Paris and allowed russians to take part in the World Championships next week.

Thank you all for explanation. Hopefully the quota will finally be distributed to the bulgarian rower. Time will tell.

Rowing Canada fucked up... badly:facepalm::wall: :hairpull:

For context, Michelle Darvill led our women's eight squad to gold at Tokyo 2020, then Rowing Canada ended up firing her the very next day. She's now with the Dutch national team, who won 9 medals (1 gold, 7 silver, 1 bronze) in Olympic events at last year's World Championships, and 6 medals (5 golds, 1 silver, and counting) at this year's World Championships. Ever since her departure, Canadian rowing has been at an all-time low (with the exception of the women's eights)

    • 2 things...   first, for what concerns the cooperation between inline skating and speedskating federations...sorry to disppoint some of you, but there's a great cooperation between them   the point is that many "summer" skaters just don't want to try the ice because they have too much to give up for that   you name places like Collalbo or Baselga, but for the "summer skating" guys from centeral and southern regions it's not an option, it's not that they make it for a living with those disciplines, they have to focus on their studies and build a post-competitive sport career and they just can't place themselves into a hole in the mountains when they maybe are studying in some prestigious universities in the big cities   as I already posted more than once, the idea of covering one of those tracks in the mountains was something idiotic, a political concession impossible to be sustained   the one and only chance to build a true legacy and an efficient, attractive national training center was to build a permanent indoor oval in Milan, beside the Forum   that would have given all the "summer skaters" a true opportunity to try the ice experience and at the same time find the most useful, attractive, prestigious places to continue their studies and try and manage them together with their sports career   any other place wouldn't stand a chance   second...don't give Salvini any credit he doesn't deserve...actually, I think he doesn't even know that in Cortina there's a sliding sports track    it's not thanks to him that the Cortina track's building finally went underway
