Thanks for the info. :)

By the way, do you have a source? It's not that I don't believe you, it's especially because the source might be updated with more informations later, like when the qualifications take place and that stuff.

In Sailing also some news have been released...

Total Quota Places available: 350 (about 40% of them being awarded at the Aarhus Worlds in 2018)

By Class:

Men's RS:X: 25
Men's Laser: 35
Finn: 19
Men's 470: 19
Men's 49er: 19
Women's RS:X: 27
Women's Laser Radial: 44
Women's 470: 21
Women's 49er FX: 21

Mixed Nacra 17 Foil: 20

moreover, the 49er, 49erFX and Nacra 17 will have multiple races on the final day of the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games. The 49er, 49erFX, Men's and Women's Skiffs will do Theatre Style Racing over a short windward leeward course with lane boundaries constricting the racing area. The Nacra 17, the mixed multihull, will conduct modern America's Cup style racing over a short course that will include a reaching start to a windward mark, then leeward - windward - leeward to a reach finish.

Where did you get the information about the qualification criteria in sailing for Tokyo 2020? Source please?

the number of boats in each class have been reported by the Italian most reliable and accurate sport website...

https://www.oasport.it/2017/08/vela-definite-le-quote-di-partecipazione-per-tokyo2020/

other infos have been reported on ISAF press release after last year's annual meeting (now I can't find the right one, but the final sentence in my previous post was just a copy & paste from there)

in shooting, Tokyo 2020 program (with all the new competition and their format) has been approved last June...

qualifying criteria have not been released yet...

that's the most updated news I could find:

  • 3 weeks later...

The speicific details for the Volleyball qualification seem to be known as well. According to Worldofvolley, all qualifications tournaments are already in 2019 and the order has changed: http://www.worldofvolley.com/News/Latest_news/FIVB/89336/fivb-changes-qualification-system-for-the-olympic-games-continental-championships-gain-importance-.html

- First tournament is the World Qualification tournament, which is similar to the World Cup. It takes place in early 2019.

- Second tournament is the International Qualification tournament, with the twelve best teams in the World Ranking not yet qualified. It's in summer 2019.

- The third tournament are the Continental Championships in 2019. So there seems to be no longer an additional continental tournament in the beginning of the Olympic year.

    • Canoe Sprint There is a now a cap of 5 athletes per gender in the kayak events (down from 6 in 2024). The World Championships has been replaced by the Olympic Qualification Rankings.   K2 lost 2 boat quotas while K4 has gained 1 boat quota. Quota distribution is quite complicated as it usually is for canoe sprint. They also force nations to compete in a minimum number of events based on the number of athletes qualified; 2 and 3 athletes per boat class must compete in 2 events, 4 must compete in all 3 events and 5 must compete in all 3 events and have two entries in the K1 event.
    • Wrestling will have a completely new format, I do not like the changes. ranking isn't really a good idea in this sport, this will force wrestlers to compete in so many events to collect points. which is not good for their health. specially with the current UWW ranking points distribution system which is plain stupid   they are also gifting 18 quotas to very weak countries by that last qualification event. but I understand their point of view. can't wait to see lots of Russian wrestlers compete for weak countries for that 1 available quota.
    • Canoe Slalom Quotas from men's/women's K1 have been moved to men's/women's KX1. K1 will now have 14 quotas while KX1 will have 10 quotas. C1 remains at 17 quotas. Athletes may participate in other events up to a maximum of 2 athletes per NOC.   The World Championship qualifier has been dropped in favour of the Olympic Qualification Rankings (7 K1, 10 C1, 3 KX1), afterwards you have the Continental Qualifiers (1 per boat) and then a new Global Qualifier (2 per boat).   There were a few changes regarding ways to ensure an athlete can only obtain 1 quota. The biggest being at each stage the boat priority is K1 > KX1 > C1 for the rankings and KX1 > K1 > C1 for the continental/global qualifiers. This basically means if the same athlete qualifiers in multiple boats then the quota will be given to the kayak over canoe.
    • I'll post significant changes periodically. I'll start with the recently added/updated documents.   Archery The addition of mixed compound (12M & 12W) forced a reduction on the recurve side. The mixed compound quotas are distributed as follows   Host - 1 World Championships - 3 Continental Games - 5 World Ranking List - 2 Final Qualifier - 1   To compensate the team events will now only have 8 nations. 2 quotas were removed from the World Ranking List and 2 were removed from the Final Qualifier.   Individual recurve and mixed recurve distribution is the same
    • In Rome, it would be useful to roof the swimming pool complex at Foro Italico, possibly with the option of retracting the roof and covering the tennis court complex. Overall, there's a lot to do, for example, compared to Budapest, but unfortunately, this is Italy How many years has Roma been building their new stadium, and they keep pushing back the completion date- now I read it's 2030? and it should be ready. The same goes for Milan- there should be a modern complex of indoor swimming pools with 50 meters pools, etc., but there's a problem with one stupid football stadium, which will only be built after an ultimatum from UEFA
