The Hungarian National TV was a true trailblazer, they already made the decision to move back their main studio to Budapest from the hosting city 5 years ago. :p

That was mostly because the Hungarian TV is running out of money, so they can't afford it anymore to move their entire sport department to the hosting city and have their production there. Which is a shame, I liked how special it felt when their entire team was in Beijing and London with a studio made just for this one event. Maybe they will do it again for Paris because it will be closer to us, but I doubt it, the Hungarian TV isn't making any extra effort anymore to have quality broadcasts.

Don't they dare cancel it, I just put in my request for 10 free days (with the Friday of the opening ceremony being the first and the Monday after the closing ceremony being the last, I'm free on Wednesdays by default and this way I only miss the first Thursday with some random football and softball, big whoop :p ).

If you'd like to help our fellow Totallympics member Bruna Moura get to the 2026 Winter Olympics, after her car crash on the way to the 2022 Olympics, every tiny bit of help would be greatly appreciated! Full story and how to help can be found here!

Luckily I just had my monthly chat with my superior and I remembered to bring this up, he said he was planning to send everyone an email asking about their holiday plans somewhere next week and if submitting it before roughly half April, there's a good chance there shouldn't be much of a problem :p

I'll be crossing my fingers for you as well now :d

    • Some other fast swims today include a new commonwealth record by Duncan Scott in the 400m free and a European record in the 100m IM by Marchand. Watch out for some quick swims in the 200m free and 200m IM later on.
    • Last stop on this TISC Central Asia tour: Turkmenistan    One of the most closed and censored lands in the world, Turkmenistan is a place with incredible things to visit, with a beautiful desert landscape, historical ruins from ancient civilisations, and the unique "Door to Hell".   But it is also a country where everything is controlled and restricted (we had no access to social networks and tons of blocked websites, can only enter with invitation letter, with a predefined tour and accompanied by a guide at all times), with giant megalomaniac buildings created in order to maintain a cult of the leader and its regime. It basically felt like what i imagine is North Korea (but without the hate for americans).   It is eccentric, it is impressive, but above all, it is bizarre. Here is a patriotic catchy song i heard when was traveling there. .      Mähri Pirgulyýewa – Halkyň arkadagly zamanasy

    • Took a couple of videos, but completely forgot to take even a single picture and the file size of the videos are too big for Totallympics so I had to find a site to upload it to   https://streamable.com/ga23lv   Vibes at the game were good, place was loud, and I downed a $6 poutine from Costco before the game. Unfortunately, the game didn’t go so well, it took us a solid 45 minutes to actually start playing hockey besides some bursts here and there, and after coming back from down 1-3 we gave up the OT goal less than a minute in (Typical Canucks fashion), but  Lankinen stole us a point, they had so many solid opportunities on him and we had no business staying close.    Really mediocre start to the season for the Canucks so far, even with 11 points in 8 games, a lot of players not showing up (Petey, Soucy, Myers, Hög, Miller, DeBrusk, although for DeBrusk he’s been known to have a streaky game) and our power play and overtime have been fucking dogshit (power play has been like this for years). Shoutout to Garland, Hughes, Sherwood and Lankinen though they’ve been incredible so far
