You say that cause you do the same in Fareo islands and the rest of scandinavia

We've had that discussion before and I don't have time for it.

The article states that it's just minke whales and though I haven't got time to do thorough research (paper due for tuesday) it seems like it's the common and arctic versions where the common is of "least concern" and the arctic is data deficient (though estimates are pretty high).

No doubt that there are whales that are endangered and should be cared for and the ones hunting these should be stopped by pretty much all cost, but it seems like this "scientific" whaling isn't of whales that are endangered (though once again, my head is filled by repatriations of POWs during WWII meaning that I haven't really checked it thoroughly)

Good luck with your paper.

Defending a dirty cause is such disgusting , killing the whales is killing the planet this is a crime , i don't see any spirit of olympiads in Japan

Problem is that if you look at it like this, Antarctica is basically the only place where the Olympics can be held, because literally every country in the world had or has questionable stuff going on.

Oh really you didn't say that when Qatar got the WC , everything is bad there

Not everything. Just modern-day slavery in the construction of the venues (and well, most likely some corruption, but that's not really unusual in sports)

The issues with Qatar are directly linked to the World Cup itself. The Japanese whale hunt, while a travesty, are very much ubrelated to the Olympics.

    • I still shocks, that a country of 4-5 million inhabitants? can be a powerhouse in almost every winter sport + handball, football (most recently with Haaland) and athletics: Ingebrigtsen, Warholm, etc. With such a small population, they can't be missing out on any major talent, surely? This must be the best training system in the world...
