Haiyang is the current world leader (By 0.43) in the 100m breaststroke. Clocked a 57.93 at the Chinese Nationals in May, becoming one of only three men to ever break the 58 second-barrier.

Well, this certainly is a new era for Hungarian swimming, we have to get used to being happy for smaller achievements. At least Holló is in the 400 IM final, which is great from him, hopefully he can achieve an OQT in the final.

SwimSwam projected a really close race between the US and Australia for the first place on the medal table Around 10-12 gold medals for both. The 2001 Worlds at Fukuoka was the last big international event where the US wasn't #1 on the medal table.  

 

 is expected to be third on the medal table thanks to McIntosh.

I think it's safe to say that quotas for  and  in both events. Maybe  takes the men's quota now that the Brits killed their gold medal chances.

Yes, I agree with you and I think  China takes the other women's quota. But then again, as GB found out this morning, there's always the chance of a DQ

Almost time for the first finals session and the only one i will watch live until next weekend. (damn work.. )

 

Most interested to see if Italia can continue their rise and fight against the giants of US and AUS. Mainly starting with the 4x100 men's free 

 

The US don't feel the juggernaut they usually are, let's see if they could finish with sub 10 golds, which would be madness.
