I wonder if they even allowed the Lithuanians to file an appeal (commentators here still don't know the reason for his disqualification)...

Do you think it's possible that Chinese hackers disqualified Rapšys from the results system? :p

How come Italy and Great Britain are considerably better than France and Germany in indoor swimming?

1) This is a recent development, Italy only became good 3 or 4 years ago and GB wasn't really good until 5 or 6 years ago. France used to be better than both.

2) I think the answer is that they just spend more money on swimming. I think it also helps when you are able to swim outdoors 8 months or so of the year (like in Italy) compared 3 or 4 months (in Germany), swimming outdoors is much less depressing.

Here they just said false start was confirmed as the reason.

If you'd like to help our fellow Totallympics member Bruna Moura get to the 2026 Winter Olympics, after her car crash on the way to the 2022 Olympics, every tiny bit of help would be greatly appreciated! Full story and how to help can be found here!

I think he was disqualified because he twitched before the start, it's just weird that FINA doesn't show a replay ...

Apparently it was movement on the starting blocks.  People over at swimswam, who have no love for Sun, agree.  But I haven't seen a replay.
