Olympic ranks in women's pursuit after 2023 Euros and two WC events:

1 :FRA 1880

2 :GBR 1530

3 :NZL 1520

4 :IRL 1475

:ITA 1405

6 :GER 1337.5

7 :CAN 1000

8 :USA 880

9 :ESP 871.5

10 :POL 630

11 :AUS 600

12 :MEX 560

No continental championships so far for the non-Europeans. Poland, Switzerland and Australia have only competed in one of the Nations Cup events. Long way to go with next year's results being included too but already it looks like the top 8 here and Australia should qualify.

Should be the 8 from Tokyo + Ireland and Japan.

  • 1 month later...

Had a quick look at the Milton line-up - looks like the big showdowns are going to be in women's distance this weekend, lots of strong teams being fielded.

Not loving the look of either of the :GBR Team Sprint squads - could be a really low scoring stop for us unfortunately.

I'm sure that the work is done though, so it's about squad building.

Livestream for the Milton :CAN evening sessions, so mostly overnight in Europe.  Actually starts tomorrow, although there are Qual & ranking races tonight.

Happy to admit it looks like I was wrong!!

:GBR Men's sprint team to race for Bronze whilst the women take 4th. Not forgetting both pursuit teams taking home golds so at the end of the Nations Cup, Team GB still looking pretty good for a full squad for Paris. (although would still advocate wrapping Katie Archibald in bubble wrap until she steps foot on the plane)

really disappointing result for the Italian women's team pursuit...with those girls, I expected a lot more.

good second place for the men without Ganna and Milan.

Still got the problem of Katie ripping the legs off the rest of the team though.  :cycling:

    • yeah you are right there but again diffrence between being a runner who has her own event, plenty of events can happen there, and being a pole vaulter that has his own event, that goes on it's own,i mean mondo's shown he can run so i guess some sprinting events could take place there but still but i get your point
    • Yeah but you have things like the Keely Klassic which was not all female 800m races.
    • ''PV Only'-''mondo classic'',feel like it's a bit pointless to even say pv only,it's kinda obvious lol.knew this was happening but seriously waiting for this, especially since i'll be able to watch it live,so glad eurovision sport is so easy to get access to.
    • One more big European meet before the Worlds, the Mondo Classic from Uppsala = PV only - tomorrow night.   Eurovision Sport | Uppsala | Mondo Classic
    • WEDNESDAY 12 MARCH   Switzerland-Slovakia 4-3 Germany-Great Britain 4-3 Netherlands-Slovakia 11-0   Slovakia will finish on fifth place after losing their 4 matches. We will know the finalists tomorrow.   If two teams ends up on the same points, the mutual match between the two teams will be decisive for their placements. If 3 teams ends up on the same points, the goal difference in the matches between only these three teams will be decisive.
    • Oh, how nice, i didn't know. Yes, we like Italians very much, similar emotionality? Ways of expressing? Sth like this. As to Russia and Germany. The things they had really done to us are pretty unbelievable and unforgivable. I think that most people in Europe know this in theory, we felt it in reality. But we still try not to cross borders, we don't live with hatered. Maybe we should. When my mom was telling me real facts from WWII in Poland well...i was close to be ready for revenge on some Germans. But its not Polish charachteristic, maybe our mistake. And yes, Poland was peaceful internaly up to some 2007/8. Then PiS started to divide this nation, telling who is Polish who is not etc. You are either a real Pole Cathol or traitor left wing gay. Luckily they had lost but our nation is strongly divided, like two nations. We all miss this old united Poland but are living like enemies. Really. Both camps see this second as national traitors, idiots of Kaczyński or Tusk (go to Berlin etc). Probably foreigners are free of this but Poland has changed through those years. Italy seems to be lovely place to live. Not ideal, impossible, but lovely. 👍 Btw, our prime minister already in Ankara 🙂🙂. To be true we made historical mistakes. Our neighbours were in bad position, we were like empire. But were to slavic, to naive. We created some of our neighbours, lost Ukrainiians to Russia so it is not bad luck, rather bad mistakes.
