I cant watch the match for job but is a good result without Messi and finally: Argentina plays with a Goalkeeper!!, Welcome Wilfredo Caballero, Sergio Romero......go home, please, you deserve it.

it seems we go with Di Maria-Messi-Lanzini behind the striker

How so ... ?

Di Maria played 1624 minutes in 22 games at world championships/confederations cup. Marco Reus played 125 minutes in 2 games at world/european championships, Ilkay Gündogan played 0 minutes in 0 games at world/european championships.

Look at the following statistics (red = absent due to injury):

https://www.transfermarkt.de/angel-di-maria/nationalmannschaft/spieler/45320/verein_id/3437

https://www.transfermarkt.de/marco-reus/nationalmannschaft/spieler/35207/verein_id/3262

https://www.transfermarkt.de/ilkay-gundogan/nationalmannschaft/spieler/53622/verein_id/3262

This is also the reason why Germany for me is the favorite for the world cup. Schweinsteiger, Mertesacker, Klose and Podolski are gone, but Podolski and Mertesacker didn't play an important role at the last world cup and Schweinsteiger/Klose can be replaced by Gündogan/Werner + Germany now also has players like Sane, Kimmich or Goretzka.

Attachment is the great fabricator of illusions; reality can be obtained only by someone who is detached.

Well, Di Maria has many injurys playing for the national team in many ocations, in fact there are many "memes" about that, nobody denies that he play many times for the national team too.

    • It's all hogwash especially in the short attention span generation. Like nobody cares about Free Tibet anymore either. Free Palestine will last a lot longer due to Saudi Arabia becoming a sponsorship force in sports.   Israel is too weak in soccer to qualify from UEFA zone. The only time they qualified was from the Asian zone and they only beat Australia & New Zealand who were complete nobodies in the 1960s. No such luck in the 60 years since.
    • Oh I assure you FIFA dodger a bullet with Israel not qualifying…   But ya that’s kind of the thing, shut up and dribble is a mantra anti LGBT people have used often. I don’t think it’s hypocritical to remind them of their position
    • Ah, yes but that's not how pro athletes are taught in North America these days? Shut up & dribble is xenophobic, racist or whatever? The hypocrisy of some of these policies were exposed during 2022 World Cup already where the Saudis played it smart and waved their own "Free Palestine' slogans. Forget LGBT rights for a moment, how many 'Free Palestine' flags will be waved in 2026? Or will those be confiscated by default? Somehow I feel this won't be met with similar backlash when China clamped down on 'Free Tibet' in 2008 OG. Saudi Arabia is more important to global markets than Iran & Egypt
