Congratulations, anyway! Brilliant performance today. Tomorrow sport papers in your country will be rightfully full of football.

Guys like Nelson Evora has to wait again! 😉

Problem usually is not football related but club related. if it’s related to Benfica/Sporting/Porto then it will make the headlines.

tomorrow though they will not have a choice haha, can’t remember if there was any other time Portugal scored 6 goals in a ko phase

Btw last time Portugal scored this many goals was in South Africa against North Korea.

And there is a funny story about this match.

Pizza Hut chain offered a slice of pizza for each Portuguese goal in any match of that World Cup.

Needless to say that after that korean match (7-0) that marketing campaign ended haha

Imagine Portugal scored 6 goals in a match and not a single one by Cristiano Ronaldo :p

How was your commentator (and those in other countries)? The Dutch one was constantly talking about how the only thing that mattered now was if Cristiano Ronaldo would score, it was getting embarrassing

I was getting annoyed with all the screaming and needed a more quiet living room so I switched to the Dutch halfway so I could enjoy those times where only the crowd is heard on the background without no commentary haha

Just noticed that the quarterfinal draw is really perfect. They've spread the four GOAT players over the four quarterfinals:

  • :CRO - :BRA has Neymar Jr
  • :MAR - :POR has Ronaldo
  • :ENG - :FRA has Mbappe
  • :NED - :ARG has Messi Cody Gakpo

Yeah especially this match there was often not really much to tell in between the goals, there was not really any tension in any moment :d

Denzel Dumfries eats Messi for breakfast, then has Neymar as lunch and finishes it off with Mbappé for dinner. Burp.

Not sure if it was the NOC or the biathlon federation (I assume the latter) that put him in the Livigno training 'world' with a former Italian biathlete as coach, but they can definitely also be blamed:  almost everyone involved in that shitshow got the motivation just sucked out of them by the methods and shitty atmosphere until they either retired or changed country

    • Lots of injuries, including often just pure bad-luck stuff like a fall from a set of stairs, illness, and of course the Sochi tragedy in 2014: one of her biathlon friends, young Julia Pieper, killed herself with a biathlon rifle early during the Olympics (she wasn't on the team, but was a training partner of both Preuss and Dahlmeier). Obviously a hard hit, which led to terrible Olympics for Preuss, with a DNF, awful results in her other individual races and a relay where she was the first runner for Germany, but fell early on, got snow in her rifle and broke a pole and ended up losing almost 3 minutes, which in turn resulted in Germany being off the podium for the first time ever.   After that came all the injuries and illness and everything. So glad to finally see her have her big individual global gold, that is so well deserved.

    • first win for the Italian men's relay since 2007      very good Home stage for us   if only the organizers didn't set the finals sessions at 2 p.m. (especially on Saturday), there would have been a lot more spectators on the seats
