Pierce finished in 5th, but just 45 points off the podium.  Remember, Damian also finished in 5th at his first Olympics in London.

What a great day for us.  Finally

I was hoping for 3-4 medals today, and Canada finished with 3 so pretty good.  There were three opportunities for Canada to have 2 athletes on the podium today and while all three times we got one, it was slightly disappointing only because I don't think I've ever seen that at a SOG in my lifetime.  

 

So 18 medals now, with one more guaranteed tomorrow.  We still have a few chances in canoe, cycling and athletics.  We'll see what happens.

Day 13 was a good day with three medals.

 

Day 14 has a chance at being another good day for Canada. We are already guaranteed a medal in football (women's tournament) while athletics has quite a few chances with men's 4x100m relay, men's 5000m, women's 1500m and while unlikely the men's 50km walk might produce a good result.
