Finally we have someone after Teja Gregorin.

The rest of the team could match these performances soon. Polona Klemenčič is establishing herself as a more than decent skier, 15th ski time today, almost getting points while shooting at 7 ...

Of course Repinc is a star in the making, but when will she make her individual debut in the WC ? Then you have Zorc, K.Vindisar, with Z.Klemenčič doing the job.

Stina Nilsson might have one biathlon podium but it is chocking to compare her transition with Lampic:hyper:Will be far behind Lampic with one penalty less today.

You know,i can ignore our women being god awful on most days,it's really more irritating when you see an Estonian female in the top 20,and it doesn't seem like anyone is coming up from the youth or juniors here either.

Ouch. I am used to reading more optimistic posts about Lithuanian biathlon around here. :d

I'm plenty optimistic when it comes to the guys[or as of right now mainly one guy],but these are just facts,Our women are just not good at this, optimism does not fix this, one of them is literally the stepdaughter of the federations president,i'm not claiming corruption btw, there's no one even really in the ibu cup level that could be brought up.The situation with the younger guys even if not ultra promising is much better.

Oh well what a race!! I was missing Sola and Alimbekava for this WC and Lampic was the only reason I was excited for today hoping for top 10 or top20. But from Stina Nilsson i was unsure if I am expecting way too much. But yeah after supporting Lampic for cross country skiing it's now time to support her in biathlon. It just makes the world cup more exciting. Lampic will make up for Belarussian absence partly. Hopefully Finland or some other nation can add more spice even a quarter of what Russia used to do would be fine

Alimbekava came second in the russian cup sprint today.

She's in Hochfilzen and will start in the relay. So far Živa is ahead of her in the running order. But she will no doubt get her chance this year. If not sooner than in  Pokljuka at the very least.

Well, I think points with a 7/10 is maybe a bit far-fetched. She impressed in IBU Cup, skiing-wise, that's for sure, but the field was not as strong as usual. It was more or less a very strong Junior Cup. Without the Russians and with most of the Norwegian B-team in WC, only the Germans were fielding their "journeywomen", who are not the fastest out there.

My call is she will be within 30-50s of the best ski time today. Considering her pedestrian shooting speed (44s in Idre) it's like she's starting with only 9 bullets, so "6/10" would be short of the top 40.

Solid take ...

Impressive work by legendary german coach Rico Groß to turn Lampic into a world beater so quickly. :yes

    • I can finally piggyback off @vinipereira predictions to deliver my own    I'll be honest. I was rather busy during most of the awards season, so I wasn't able to see as much as I wanted to, or normally would have been able to. Therefore, I'm relying heavily on pundit predictions and general feel this time around.     If there was a category for best poster artwork, my nominees would be: Bugonia, Eddington, Dracula, The Sound of Falling, Sirāt   I'd give best animal acting to Pipa from Sirāt   And my favorite scenes from the year are... Kids getting bewitched, Weapons Gladys getting her just desserts, Weapons Car chase, One Battle After Another I Lied To You, Sinners Turn that shit up, Sirāt Playing with arrows, The Love That Remains Street dance, The Life of Chuck Cold open, Warfare Final scene, The Plague Ship prayer, The Testament of Ann Lee

    • Btw I highly recommend the short film 'Butterfly' which has a story related to the Olympics.
    • Once again here I am with my annual Oscar predictions post. Last year I predicted 13/23 winners which was my worst results ever by far. For the second consecutive year Brazil is nominated so I'm hoping that 'The Secret Agent' wins something, especially because it's a film from my home state. I watched 34 out of the 35 feature films (only 'Avatar: Fire and Ash' missing) and all 15 short films nominated, so I leave a personal ranking of all the categories.   ["will win" is my prediction / "could win", my alternate prediction / "should win", my personal ranking / "shoud have been nominated", a way to remember other notable work].
    • I don't know how soon that'll be though... and until then not holding my breath. Really wanted to see Caissie crushing balls at the Olympics, he deserved it for his play this tournament, and now he might not get the opportunity to. He's still young, but this will probably be Canada's best chance, and he'll only be around for Brisbane 2032 at best considering the bids in contention for 2036.    It just sucks, constant disappointment for the Canadians this year with barely anything to cheer for, and coming so close only to come up short... I'd rather us have just lost in the group stage
    • I think instead of allocating 2 spots here (for Americas) WBSC should have allowed 3 spots (rather than 2) in the 2027 WBSC premiere. ( 1 each for Asia, Europe & Americas)   That way it would have ensured two things : ONLY the top team from Americas gets the quota here ( deservedly so) additionally it would have allowed teams from Americas a second shot at qualification from the 2027 premieres.    Getting only 1 tournament , more than 2 years ahead of olympics is very harsh on the teams from Americas.
