Vic Liu 1,686 Posted November 4, 2022 #162 Share Posted November 4, 2022 Congrats to Hashimoto with a well-deserved gold. The battle between Hashimoto and Zhang will last long until at least Paris I guess. Very excited and happy to follow the next match. thiago_simoes and rafalgorka 2 Link to comment https://totallympics.com/forums/topic/14942-artistic-gymnastics-fig-world-championships-2022/page/17/#findComment-504392 Share on other sites

phelps 7,741 Posted November 4, 2022 #164 Share Posted November 4, 2022 and it's all over... Tanigawa scores 13.600 on the HB and that's enough to save the Bronze Medal from Malone's attack. phelps 7,741 Posted November 4, 2022 #166 Share Posted November 4, 2022 (edited) just saw a heartbreaking score... Yumin Abbadini tonight scored 13.666 on the PH (it was his best score of the night), meanwhile in the very last exercise of the team final he fell down and scored only 12.300. If he had scored tonight's mark in the team final, Italy would have won the bronze medal, overtaking GBR by 0.102 Edited November 4, 2022 by phelps thiago_simoes 1 Link to comment https://totallympics.com/forums/topic/14942-artistic-gymnastics-fig-world-championships-2022/page/17/#findComment-504398 Share on other sites

thiago_simoes 1,423 Posted November 5, 2022 #169 Share Posted November 5, 2022 Hashimoto vs Boheng is the best rivalry that could have happened in men's all-around. Uchimura was basically ahead of everyone and even when he had problems, the judges would turn a blind eye. I guess we all remember when Verniaiev was robbed of a gold medal in Rio, or when Japan was gifted an undeserved team silver medal in London. This time, however, the judges are not eating up Hashimoto, and Boheng has the talent and the mental strength to challenge him. The only problem for me (and this has nothing to do with the quality of his gymnastics, just a pet peeve of mine) is that Hashimoto, pretty much like Uchimura, is as charismatic as a cucumber. thiago_simoes 1,423 Posted November 5, 2022 #170 Share Posted November 5, 2022 For once I'll not complain about Great Britain being overscored. It was a fair result. Now, silver and bronze are totally wrong. Hashimoto was super overscored here and Doi should be ashamed to be gifted a medal. Some of his pirouettes were clearly incomplete. Bartolini and Gischard were much more deserving.
