About Poland, I have no idea why we are sending just two riders, maybe athletes realized that they don't have a chance for quota in this event and doesn't want waste moneys for traveling, or maybe something wrong happened with horses...

It's weird. Seems like the Polish federation is not very interested to send teams except for the Olympic Games. There are eligible Polish riders out there, but aside from Tokyo, the federation just hasn't been sending teams out there recently.

 

Before Tokyo, you need to go back to Strzegom 2017 to find the last time Poland had a team, but that's because they were the hosts probably. And before Strzegom, the 2014 WEG was the last time, when Poland was much, much weaker compared to today.

Here is a throwback at the last time Pratoni hosted championships (2007 Europeans). Pratoni slide was there, and it will be there once again this year early in the course (but with different obstacles, of course).

Everyone passed the horse inspection, except sadly Daniela Moguel's Cecelia who was withdrawn from the holding box.

Germany was drawn first which is the least ideal position. Brazil will end the team rotation. Somehow Canada always gets drawn early, but at least they will not be forced to be the competition trail blazers like they were in both Rio and Tryon, their last two team appearances.

 

Regarding the individual rider for big nations, there are no real surprises there. Team USA is kind of dumb for going with Lauren Nicholson over Arial Grald. New Zealand choosing Spencer over Pottinger is curious as well. But maybe they just don't like Pottinger & Just Kidding's show jumping record.
