Yeah, their formula is sometimes weird and they completely ignore non-result things that could be important such as retirements or in some cases whether or not the athlete actually qualifies. I don't blame them too much, it's hard keeping track of over 1000 athletes.

They don't always ignore them, they mostly just miss them because indeed it's hard to follow all news of so many athletes. Like Stefecekova...I'm sure Slovak people know she's pregnant, but outside Slovakia, I think there is almost nobody in the world who has a clue :p Same for athletes in "minor sports" from other "minor nations" like The Netherlands.

They are open to suggestions though. Usually if you tweet them saying "this or that athlete didn't qualify/retired/is pregnant" etc, they'll see if they can change it for their next update.

Apparently The Swedish Olympic Committee has decided to take a spot from the rifle shooter Michaela Arvidsson and give it to Håkan Dahlby, so he should be removed again.

And yet they are giving medals to athletes that didn't even qualify for the Olympics, like Emma Samuelsson in fencing. :p

Yes, mistakes like these can happen when trying to track 300+ events ;)

I already pointed the main man behind it to this specific thread because there's useful info here :)

Well, checking the list of qualifiers would be the first step in any research. :d

Anyway, Totallympics community could make 10 times more realistic medal table and yet there will always be sites full of mistakes like this that take all of the glory. That's what I'm saying. :p

Yet somehow here 30-something active users of a forum are able to keep track of it and we're aren't even earning money from it

That's 30-something people who mostly specialise in a few sports vs basically 1 person, maybe 2, and his mathematical algorythms ;)

And to be fair, apparently 4 years ago they got close to the real result, so the real bullshit is saying that their predicted medal table is bullshit :) (not saying you do, by the way)
