He also missed the american quota by finishing 2nd. He almost always fails in finals. Must have a big nerves problem. Probably will get the quota at pan am games since the level is so low but still...

I would imagine an athlete of his caliber should get one eventually.

good day for Italy...another great comeback from hell (only 47/50 after 2 series in the qualification round) by Gabriele Rossetti and now we have filled the 2 spots also in the men's skeet...

what's worrying is the fact that in the men's trap (very important because it's "our traditional cradle of success" and also because we need it to make the mixed trap teams) and the women's skeet (where we got Gold & Silver in Rio) we haven't got a single quota yet...

and the events where those quota places are up for grab are always less...

hopefully in a couple of weeks in Arab Emirates we get something, that shooting range has always been quite favourable to our shooters (more than Acapulco's and those in the Far East for sure)...

    • Yeah, we have such a strong crop of Juniors, that we can’t take them all. They all have exciting trajectories but to predict what Junior swimmers will is always difficult. Better to let them all swim together at Juniors than rocketing them all up to seniors and swimming a prelim and going home.
    • Hanlon is the most unlucky, in my opinion. Aside from relay cover, she's the 50m champ and they made a point of including consideration for those events being in LA for the other discretionary picks. Essentially she has the same case for selection as Max Morgan (albeit without the trajectory right now).   Blocksidge's form was way off this week (compared to her previous bests). Obviously being still young you could put that down to relative inexperience. Still, she has World and European Juniors that she could still be selected for this summer. There's an argument that performing well at those might be as beneficial as going to Singapore.   That said, I'm happy that they did take a bunch of discretionary picks. That's not always been the case.

    • it was below and over 57/73kg (4 categories, 2 for men and 2 for women), if I remember correctly    however, basically they gave a title shot to a meaningless competition, in order to try and relive the open category, but it was a fiasco
