We are able to rig the calendar to benefit us, but... incapable to put Karate in Paris 2024 apparently.

you Karate federation apparently is more powerful within the WKF/EKF than within the French NOC/Paris LOCOG...

There is nothing to predict from coffee grounds. If karate succeeds in Tokyo (I count on it), then they will have a place in Paris. The French will definitely want to have more competitors in sports climbing.

In my opinion, only considering realistic chances of qualifying through ranking at the moment, France won't gain that much from this change of calendar (in some categories for them it'll be better, in some worse). Turkey and Italy are penalized by it, and for Spain it won't matter. Countries who gain the most seems to be Ukraine and Azerbaijan (especially with Zaretska). Considering that the European Championships are going to be held in Baku i bet my 2 cents on Azerbaijan pushing for the change.
