Canada with a HUGE 3-0 win over the Dominican Republic today in Women’s VNL!!! 

 

1-1 record now, and only 14 (!) points behind the Netherlands for the final Olympic quota, with the 13.1 that we gained today!!

Another HUGE victory during match 3 of Women’s VNL, defeating China 3-1 

 

We gain 11 points towards our World Ranking with that win, and close down the gap to Netherlands to only 3 points!!!

Of course they do, but they also lose points for losses. They beat Bulgaria 3-0 (4 points), and lost 1-3 to Turkey (-2.5 points), compared to Canada losing to Brazil 1-3 (-3 points), sweeping Dominican Republic (13 points), and defeating China 3-1 (11 points).

The is up 1.38 point so far for the week-end (after two matched), compared to Canada being up 21.26 points (after three matches).

 

Currently has 289.31 points and has 286.92 points.

 

Winning against lower ranked teams or losing agaisnt higher ranked team doesn't affect the ranking much, but beating two higher ranked teams (like Canada just did) is huge.

 

If beats and beats then I think Canada will overtake the Netherlands for now.
