This's simply disastrous for Thai weightlifting and ofc most logically if they're banned from Tokyo 2020 , they won't be either allowed / they won't be intersted in hosting an Olympic qualifying event

IWF didn't say how many samples got this treatment or how it chose targets.

Gut feeling was quite a good one in the case of Thailand.

so, according to this point of the Qualification Rules:

I suppose that this will apply if some members of the NFs allowed/covered doping cases

There's a rumour that this could get worse for Thailand...

They do indeed have one or two medal winners left who didn't get caught :p

Will the Thai weightlifting team be banned from participating in 2020?

Will their 2018 World Championship medals be cancelled?

May be a good news for the Chinese team.

hopefully Chinese lifters are also among this target group by IWF

I also hope that after all, from 2009 to the present, the number of times the Chinese national team athletes have been found to be banned is almost zero. We have nothing to worry about, which can prove our innocence.
