I'm so sick of the ton of (mostly Russian) people spurting their bullcrap on Twitter about how we should never again have these 'rotten overseas stages' because there's some cold trouble now.

Or the even worse reason I've seen: it's not convenient for European fans because of timezones

Like you're even a real fan if you don't watch at 20:00 because you have to drink with your friends or whatever :p

Were they complaining when Russians got caught for doping ?

Yes.

Spoiler

About that being an anti-Russian conspiracy :p

Agree, anyone who can't watch it is not a real fan.

As a US based fan, I love the idea of the races in North America.  What the IBU is doing is trying to build the sport in the Americas.  I get it from an economic perspective.  What they are faced with is an odd schedule.  Because of the distance, it makes most sense to have two weeks in one.  Because of the distance, going there every season is a little hard.  Because of the three set races in December, the timing gets tricky.  I guess that you could make them the last two races after the World Championships.  That would work, and would actually get a higher quality field.

And for what it is worth, the next two seasons schedule is already set - No Russia for the World Cup, or the IBU Cup for that matter.  They are even shut out from the Youth Cups as well.

Arber/Martell seems like a nice double header to visit :d

The rest of the future schedule:  No Russia at all.  I do not know how far out the IBU usually makes the schedule, but this one seems to be specifically far out to deny Russia an even to host for a long time.

Those IBU Cup 1st semesters with Idre, Sjusjoen and then either Martell or Obertilliach really suck.

I wonder how weak the field will be this week in Utah.

I know the Canada stage had to ruin my chance at seeing any good athletes
