Sad to hear, but also not entirely surprised. Ruck was hyped to be a big thing in swimming where she could win individual medals at the World/Olympics, but she's mostly been an important depth swimmer for our relays. Hope she can train in mental strength.

With her out and Sanchez changing nationalities our 4x100m freestyle relay will probably not medal. I guess we'll see how the trials look for us.

    • I still shocks, that a country of 4-5 million inhabitants? can be a powerhouse in almost every winter sport + handball, football (most recently with Haaland) and athletics: Ingebrigtsen, Warholm, etc. With such a small population, they can't be missing out on any major talent, surely? This must be the best training system in the world...
    • FIFA announced the stadium and time for each match   for  Iran, it will be 2 matches in LA (and not just 1) and 1 in Seattle and luckily we avoided playing in Canada. absolutely nothing against the country, but there are just too many douchebag Iranian groups in Vancouver trying to mix everything with their stupid politics. it's better to stay away from them.   that can happen in US too but less likely. playing in LA is more like playing at home, at least I hope so. 2022 Qatar was a disaster from our point of view, hopefully this one remains only about football.
