The scenes of damaged infrastructures in Donbass for the past years are now being common for all the cities in the eastern half of Ukraine. I hope the war will end soon.

Elena Osipova one of the last survivors of the siege of Leningrad, was detained by police tonight at an anti-war demonstration in St. Petersburg

Now, this is Probably the most disgusting thing I saw in my lifetime

Seriously if this happened by our police I would be ashamed, embarassed and completely disappointed.

So, such countries like :AZE:BUR:UZB or :VEN wasn't presenting during voting or what?

I don't know about the others but I read that Venezuela couldn't vote because they have debts with UN (yes, I mean a money debt lol).

Since yesterday kids of Ukrainian refugees are allowed and invited to attend Slovak schools, some of them already entered classes in Prešov elementary school yesterday, they obviously just start slowly, to adapt to the new environement, learn basic languages stuff etc.. but the main goal is obviously for the kids to find new friends and feel safely

    • There will be specialized double sculls...just not for an NOC if it is entering singles specialists.   Either enter 2 singles specialists, or 1 XD specialist pair.   But they can in theory compete in both events, I guess, if they qualify...our top M, I think, does both.   But there are 17M, 17W, and 30 Pairs allotted in the quota, so I don't think the intent is that every singles entry will be in doubles.   (Perhaps this gets to fall in line with Weightlifting, where due to max entry quota, an NOC can't enter in every event, even if they have the best athletes...here, unless you have a pair who qualifies in both.)

    • I read the Olympic qualification documents for weightlifting. A country can have the opportunity to send a maximum of 4 athletes in one gender, but the conditions are very strict.
    • world champion Jessica Schilder opened her season up with 19.78 in France.
    • wait! what???   so, there won't be specialized double sculls, but those boats would have to feature 2 single specialists if a Nation wants to enter 2 proper singles M+W??? tell me I misread the expalaination...
    • Yeah, they do get broadcast pretty regularly.  I remember even back in Bode Miller's day they would show the training.
