Do you know when they are going to publish the 2020 Olympics standards?

1st November 2019, according to this timeline from the official qualification document.

Though it can change, as the Council of IAAF will further discuss the introduction of the World Rankings as the primary qualification process for the 2020 Olympic Games at its next meeting in March. If they drop the World Rankings as the primary qualification process, the entry standards may be used instead, which could mean they will be published earlier in the qualification process.

Shaunae Miller-Uibo has decided to choose the 400m instead of the 200m. Too bad for Niger.

Mostly though, too bad the schedule again is so ridiculous.

I also have a small complain about how Women's WCH Marathon is scheduled with other IAAF Marathons. The Women's WCH Marathon are done around midnight September 28th, and the day after, September 29th, Berlin Marathon is being held.

Well, one can not blame the Berlin Marathon for not moving their entire event and the WCH marathon could have been a month earlier without making much of a difference, since the top runners generally have several months between marathons, at least :p

Besides, it never really feels like most top athletes care much for the WCH marathon anyway.

Really, it doesn't make much difference. Even if the WCH Marathon were in August, a start in both Berlin and the WCH would be highly unlikely.

In the end, :ETH and :KEN can just spread their runners as they choose and they will still win both races with ease.

I'm always holding out a tiny bit of hope for an upset at championship marathons, weird stuff happens :d
