In 2018 we lost both Men's 4x100 relays but we had a youth team then. Now Brazil had mostly the best athletes available (except for Olympic medalists Fratus and Scheffer), although many people think it would be better to send younger athletes to gain experience.

I think team Brazil wants the trophy again, without swimming they would be fighting with colombia.

We’re still fighting for the 3rd place, love it!

Looks like Chile is doing well in its preparation for the 2023 Pan American Games

:COL still likely the strongest program on the continent, but certainly (at least for the sake of good competition, hopefully) not automatic picks for gold in Santiago next year.

Finally had a chance to watch some replays, and I feel the need to amend this :p

:COL skaters absolutely demolished the competition in both the men’s and women’s 10km points race on the road. They’re definitely still the class of continent.

    • There will be specialized double sculls...just not for an NOC if it is entering singles specialists.   Either enter 2 singles specialists, or 1 XD specialist pair.   But they can in theory compete in both events, I guess, if they qualify...our top M, I think, does both.   But there are 17M, 17W, and 30 Pairs allotted in the quota, so I don't think the intent is that every singles entry will be in doubles.   (Perhaps this gets to fall in line with Weightlifting, where due to max entry quota, an NOC can't enter in every event, even if they have the best athletes...here, unless you have a pair who qualifies in both.)

    • I read the Olympic qualification documents for weightlifting. A country can have the opportunity to send a maximum of 4 athletes in one gender, but the conditions are very strict.
    • world champion Jessica Schilder opened her season up with 19.78 in France.
    • wait! what???   so, there won't be specialized double sculls, but those boats would have to feature 2 single specialists if a Nation wants to enter 2 proper singles M+W??? tell me I misread the expalaination...
