Well running low 50's with a lot of pain promises a lot for Rio in case she's out of pain by then..

in case... sure, but she's been injured for few months already, so hopefully she will be fully recovered by rio

According to Russian media IAAF decided to reject disqualification of 10 Russian athletes. They can start at the Olympics.
And they can start at European championship with neutral flag.
But there are no names.

Whole lot of big stuff happening in the past moments...

9.83 and 9.86 (legal) for Gatlin and Bromell, 10.74 (too much wind) for Gardner and Bowie.

Felix wins the 400m in 49.68 even though apparently she's not fit yet.

Meanwhile in Jamaica, both Thompson and SAFP pulled out of the 200m final. Apparently Thompson asked for a medical exception and could still be added to the team, but SAFP did not.

No Okolo or McCorory for the US 400m team. World Indoor medallists Spencer and Hayes didn't make it either. Allyson Felix, Phyllis Francis, and Natasha Hastings are going to Rio.

Meanwhile on the Men's side LaShawn Merritt just blasted a 43.97 and McQuay misses out

Federation has announced 66 names for Brazil at the Olympics, biggest number since Atlanta (42 athletes). Maybe some athletes (like Duda) will be added by ranking.

6 men have now jumped over 8.30m in the long jump final, wtf :yikes:

The record in one competition was 4 men and that barely ever happened...let alone 5...or 6!

    • That was known from the start for  and will be planned for.   Sadly just the reality of sports in North America. Canada and the US are both huge, a flight from Vancouver to Halifax or from Seattle to Miami is north of five hours. Every sports league in North America has to deal with this kind of travel logistics on the regular, so none of this will seem particularly unusual to a North American player.
    • That’s not a long distance, it’s barely a 2h flight and there is no difference in timezone. Easily doable for fans as well.
