Sorry Sharapova, but it doesn't matter if you did it intentionally or not. Not knowing something that you should know can't be used as an excuse.

She handled this whole thing with the IQ of a rat :roflmao:

She even went on Facebook saying the tribunal clearly said she didn't take it intentionally/to enhance performance, yet that is the conclusion in the end..

If you'd like to help our fellow Totallympics member Bruna Moura get to the 2026 Winter Olympics, after her car crash on the way to the 2022 Olympics, every tiny bit of help would be greatly appreciated! Full story and how to help can be found here!

Like it when for the same doping Lepchenko got 3 months ban(and got amnesty after that) and for Sharapova - 2 years. No politics, as usual.

I'm not familiar with Lepchenko's case, but can you give me some link where she says she used it after it became illegal? (Like Sharapova did, which was the reason for her two year ban)

And it's the real reason. Lepchenko said just NOTHING. Usual ITF politics - no words, no ban.

www.tennis.com/pro-game/2016/05/lepchenko-refuses-comment-alleged-positive-meldonium-test/58705/

For other links - it can be googled  "lepchenko meldonium"

Anyway, it's strange to answer 'no comment' instead of 'I'm not guilty', isn't it?

Nope, its not. The difference is Sharapova was so incredibly stupid to immediately admit she used it after it became illegal. Basically all other caught athletes say they stopped using it before January (or said nothing), that's a huge difference.

Sharapova admitted she took banned substances, most others didn't (not just American Lepchenko, also a ton of Russians).

IMHO it's really interesting(strange) when person gets positive results for the test, and the verdict goes not just for that, but for time of using that doping. Maybe, WADA were suprised a bit when they had known that meldonium could be found even after 3 months after using of it.

Anyway, situation with doping becomes more and more complicated, unfortunately for all the world sport.

That last bit is true and it does seem like WADA made some big mistakes in the whole meldonium thing. That still doesn't change that Sharapova admitted using banned substances and the others did not :)

The real thing is "did not admit". Who knows, how many players said nothing and were lucky enough that meldonium hadn't been found in their tests(if it worked as usual, 3-6 hours before disappearing if I'm not mistaken)

:USA Gwen Berry (hammer throw) - Vilanterol Trifenatate

The weird thing in the whole story is that her 3 month ban ends just 2 days before the US trials.

so we have Dr.Fuentes back in action, possibly no sanctions for the athletes caught cheating but at least we're going to "officially" know some of their names...

I'm not sure that this time we can say "justice has been done"...:mumble::facepalm:
