According to FIVB new rules, it could mean that Russia might end up dsiqualified. But, hey, it's the FIVB and Russia, so I assume they will find a trick not to follow their own rules. Xander 53 Posted March 11, 2016 #48 Share Posted March 11, 2016 (edited) Ukrainian & French scientists together with our biathlon federation sent the new data to IBU. Ukrainian Biathlon Federation received the letter from IBU. IBU can initiate the additional meldonium research. http://biathlon.com.ua/comments.php?id=7178 The IBU Medical Committee planned on March 30 as for Tyshchenko & Abramova case can be postponed. The IBU said that meldonium effects as a doping haven't been scientifically proven as well as timing of the elimination of drugs from the body (Abramova stopped taking those meds on December 10). This new reserach can be about IBU & our sportsmen, it has nothing to do with other cases. According to the UBF president the transition period (up to 4 months) can be introduced or meldonium can be excluded from the doping list at all (less likely imo).
