The Dutch European champions won't be competing in Roubaix, since the Netherlands didn't send anyone to any Nations Cup and thus is not allowed to compete. Major fuckup from a national federation, who would have guessed.

I've no idea if we're sending anyone, but we'll probably know one day before the championship starts.

Krupeckaitė and Marozaitė skipped the Europeans, perhaps so they could have a better chance starting here?

Lendel, Jonauskas and Baleišytė would be additional good bets for athletes that might be representing Lithuania here.

In the team sprints and Madisons. The Netherlands do have quotas for individual races though, but only 1 in each except for men's sprint (phew, at last we'll have our Hoogland/Lavreysen final).

We could theoretically see a Barbadian or an Algerian team sprint in Roubaix however

Entry lists are to be published on Thursday, we'll know by then.

Oof, so Marozaitė and Krupeckaitė skipping both championships alltogether, interesting. I remember them saying they're going to be preparing for it after the Olympics.

BEAT Cycling (Havik and Van Schip's trade team) have a theory as to why the UCI did not grant the Dutch dispensation for all events despite the rules stating otherwise - see Twitter thread

    • This could be the last ever Paralympics. Come 2028 it might well not be held because the IPC has split in two. That’s one legacy for Andrew Parsons.    He could simply ignore CAS or even withdraw the IPC from them. Unless he is worried about falling from his hotel room window or is being blackmailed.
    • The Netherlands has decided to cancel its hosting of the 2026 European Paralympic Swimming Championships due to the participation of Russian and Belarusian athletes under their own flags, ad.nl reported on February 25. The Dutch Swimming Federation (KNZB) made this decision after consultations with government ministries, including the Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sport, which confirmed the withdrawal.
    • An interesting bit from the head of french biathon on the olympic success. • Indians have rediscovered hockey due to recent Olympic and Asian level successes. One of the catalyst was a sports movie called 'Chak De! India' (meaning Go India in Punjabi) which is a underdog movie on the women's team. The movie songs has become an iconic patriotic song to motivate our athletes in sports events and the movie title 'Chak De' has become a slogan in itself.  The movie is available in Netflix France as well - https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0871510/
