I'm giving the time from the US perspective, in just a few minutes at 2000 Eastern US time, and if you look at the preliminary events, its now 77 days exactly until the first pitch of the  -    women's softball game.  And we are going to have quite the 77 days, I'm afraid.

As we approach the 50 days to go milestone until the Games of the XXXII Olympiad in Tokyo, it's time to reveal our official Olympic Countdown Clock.

 

The clock will help us countdown the days until the Opening Ceremony.

 

How does it work? The Olympic Countdown Clock consists of the numbers 1-50 arranged so that they make up the iconic Olympic rings.

As each day passes, another piece of the Olympic ring is coloured-in and as we edge closer to the Olympics the rings begin to take shape.

At the one day to go milestone, the 5 coloured rings will be depicted in their complete form.
