Did I miss something regarding Demare?

He's being accused left and right of cheating on the mountains by only being able to finish in time by hanging on to cars. Plus organizers made the time limit easier when he was in trouble, but didn't do anything when non-French sprinters were in trouble, of course.  Apart from that Demare did not make himself much appreciated with his bitchfight with Bouhanni when they were in the same team.

Sounds like a poor loser.

As I saw him saying it on TV, I would say that's wrong. He said it with honesty. If anything, he is impressed that the others are that much better than him, but also disappointed that he isn't closer to the top.

Fan-freaking-tastic. The 678th stage finish in the unavoidable Pau and to add insult to injury, the ASO thought it'd be fun to go through the north, where there is not a single bit of climbing apart from 2 joking hills, instead of going to the south and pick up some leftover parts of the Pyrenees. It's like they hate everyone who likes the Tour de France.

A fitting end to this insulting stage would be Demare taking the stage win while holding onto the car.

Demare has been holding onto cars for the whole tour! If only the thousands of people (teams staff, tv and press reporters in cars, spectators,...) had some mobile devices that you can use to film, we would see dozens of videos around the internet in which Demare is holding onto cars during this tour! Even Greipel accused him (I mean, he presented false data and later deleted the accusation, but who cares, Demare is guilty).

However, let's ignore the fact that one of the top guys was caught when he illegally gained dozens of seconds (much more than 20) that could be decisive for the win/podium...let's not complain about the jury in that case because that was not cheating, only a tactical move

The jury definitely deserves some complaint there: penalizing one rider for that was 100% correct, whereas another top rider got away without any sort of punishment for doing the same thing a few kilometers earlier. And no, nobody is saying the punishment should not have happened (also there's quite a few people saying 20 seconds was too little).

    • Well, I see that the national competition between mixed doubles and also men increased. Also actually amongst women, too. Before it was mostly Kubeskova team that participated in some international events. This year, Synackova team did really well in the pre-qualification just the final qualification was not that good. But curling is about details. Generally, I am glad to see that there is really much higher competition than it was 10 years ago. And seeing Chabickovsky a Zelingerova making it to the Olympics in such a young age can be really promising for their career as curling is becoming more professional, as we see Grand Slams and other big tournaments.    As for now, I think that in Milano Team Klima and mixed doubles can make really interesting results. After all, they will finish in top 10 so just qualifying to the Games is already a huge achievement

    • Gotta feel for  defending world bronze medalists, but couldn't make it to the Olympics
    • with a steal of 3 in the 8th end,  can't make the last shot to stay alive.
    • Oh yea.  Seemed like they were starting to get some less than elite pitchers, but the commits they've had in the last 12 hours have been stellar.  Now the staff feels like an embarrassment of riches.  They have 3 elite starters and a bunch of guys that can eat innings.  Thrilled what Mark DeRosa has been able to put together.
    • It looks like you guys will be juuuuust fine.   Tarik Skubal, Logan Webb, Joe Ryan and Nolan McLean all committed within the last couple of days.
    • Yay for no disqualifications! Thanks @OlympicIRL for all the work! Getting close.
