Well, I used to cheer for :TKM, being underdogs and all.

But it's impossible to be their fan anymore after witnessing that travesty called Ashgabat 2017. That was beyond pathetic.

What happened there? I think I missed that due to time difference and live stream problems or a lack of interest or something :p

I decided to watch the YEM-TKM wrestling match after all the fuss around here.

I know nothing about wrestling but I wish it was like Judo, when the match is over once you throw the opponent on their back. It was sad to watch the guy getting thrown then being rolled over like a dumpling in hot oil.

I can't believe North Korea will probably lose the silver medal on women's artistic gymnastics. Japan was solid but the North Korean girls were fantastic.

Some other tidbits from those Games...

- Lady Gaga's Bad Romance being played ALL THE TIME at EVERY VENUE

- Outdoor equestrian being held in the Asian INDOOR Games

- All venues being completely full by fake fans waving a million Turkmen flags

    • There will be specialized double sculls...just not for an NOC if it is entering singles specialists.   Either enter 2 singles specialists, or 1 XD specialist pair.   But they can in theory compete in both events, I guess, if they qualify...our top M, I think, does both.   But there are 17M, 17W, and 30 Pairs allotted in the quota, so I don't think the intent is that every singles entry will be in doubles.   (Perhaps this gets to fall in line with Weightlifting, where due to max entry quota, an NOC can't enter in every event, even if they have the best athletes...here, unless you have a pair who qualifies in both.)

    • I read the Olympic qualification documents for weightlifting. A country can have the opportunity to send a maximum of 4 athletes in one gender, but the conditions are very strict.
