It also looks like and will both miss out on these Olympics entirely - is first reserve in the 10000m and was 3 points away from qualifying in the 5000m Yeah, really happy with being in. I saw it coming for a few years when her times became more and more competitive, but it was always going to be close. Sad about Peter Michael missing out, he's such a fun skater. Colombia has some talented juniors, for example the reigning national champion on the women's 500m and 1.000m is a 15-year-old and I wouldn't be surprised if Diego Amaya is going to win a medal during the Junior World Championships this year (if they won't be cancelled). He got a silver medal and two 4th places during the 2020 Youth Olympics. So let's hope for some Colombian skaters in Milan. konig

If Michael sneaks into the 1500m he will also be able to start the mass start, fwiw. He's guaranteed to be a reserve in the mass start, and up to six reserves can enter the mass start if they are already skating another event. A sad outcome from today: Haralds Silovs was 0 points away from qualifying for the mass start (lost out on best result to Tai)

However, I wouldn't be surprised if Ning Zhongyan will kick Tai back to position 25. Ning decided to skip the 1.500m to focus on the mass start final. Dennis 686 Posted December 11, 2021 #66 Share Posted December 11, 2021 (edited) Final quota men's mass start: x1 x1 x2 x2 x1 x1 x1 x1 x2 x2 x2 x2 x2 x1 x2 Host quota: x1 Reserves: Rule D.2.6 of the qualification document may be applied: Additional competitors for the Mass Start event, up to a maximum of 30 competitors, may be entered during Games time. Additional starting positions will then be made available to athletes who have been entered and participated in at least one (1) distance/event. The allocation of these additional starting positions will be done according to the Reserve list for the Mass Start event (as per D.2.5), with priority to NOCs without an already entered athlete in the Mass Start event However, the Belarussian guy has not qualified for any individual distance and have 0 quota on individual distances. So this rule may only be applied to Peter Michael who JUST missed out on a qualifying spot on the 5k and might fall out of the qualification spots after the B-group 1.500m later tonight. NearPup 3,014 Posted December 12, 2021 #69 Share Posted December 12, 2021 Still a lot of skaters left in the B group, but Silovs has moved himself up from 50th to 36th in the time ranking. Currently he is making the Olympics with three places to spare. In the live ranking Michael the last time qualifier, but he is yet to skate. NearPup 3,014 Posted December 12, 2021 #70 Share Posted December 12, 2021 Six pairs to go in the 1500m B group but I think both Silovs and Michael are assured qualification! Dennis
