That makes more sense to award the East Asian quotas now.

This means that the men's singles world rankings will have 10 quotas (plus athletes who are also qualified in the mixed doubles).

  • 3 weeks later...

Looks like :GUY is going to get the women's tripartite quota according to this news report.

No word on the men's quota, but Wikipedia has :CGO listed (probably my choice too).

I think 11+ Xiao. And I also think that until Altinkaya are all safe. For the last spot Balazova needs another win to overtake Brateyko.

I think too, maximum 15 places for ranking list, 4 women players in mixed doubles not in teams competition (CUB, PRK, HUN and Xiao ESP), if we count Xiao as part of mixed doubles there are 11 places, if not there are 12 places (but one of them Xiao), nothing changed, on ittf exist women summary document, Xiao on list already and 11 places by ranking.

I think after first round in Ljubljana: 9. De Nutte, 10. Altinkaya, 11. Brateyko, 12. Balazova, all other out of competion

I think that Altinkaya with tonight's win overtook Brateyko and qualified.

    • poir Madsen had a very unlucky debut at the CWC he seriously injured himself (dislocated shoulder and possible concussion) in an attempt to save a boundary in the very early stages of Today' match vs Scotland   moreover, Italy lost badly against the Scots, allowing them to score 207 runs in the 1st innings (it took 14 overs to get the 1st wicket) and going well short chasing that score (we immediately saw that today wasn't the day when our lead batsman went out at the very 1st ball thanks to an amazing but improbable catch by a Scottish fielder)   in all this, a couple of highlights to be recorded: Hasan Ali with a very efficient bowling performance (5.25 economy, 1 wicket) and Harry Manenti with good 52 runs in just over 30 balls with the bat
    • The Italian team has already achieved a better result than the Chinese team in 2022 at home. The Italian team has made enormous progress since 2023, when we were still losing to Korea and Poland. Of course, this is mainly due to naturalizations, but China did the same. It's one of the few sports that have made significant progress before these Olympics and this is how it should be in most disciplines at home games.
    • change with given the WBC rosters    ps you forgot (I'd put them at no.5, however)
    • will get bronze.  are going to struggle to come back from such an horrible performance today.
