Badminton Qualification to Summer Olympic Games Paris 2024

Kevin Lee/Ty Lindeman were the #2 seeds in men’s doubles (1,800 points back of an Olympic quota, and a tournament win plus a semifinal finish for Dong/Yakura would’ve been enough to overtake them I’m pretty sure), and bowed out during the round of 16. So no, not all of our top players are still alive.

It was always Lee/Lindeman or Dong/Yakura. There was no chance of both qualifying and almost no chance of neither qualifying as well.

That’s the amount of points counting towards the World Ranking. Not sure if it’s the same for the Olympic Ranking.

Edit: Because according to that, Lindeman/Lee have qualified for the Olympics as of today, but I don’t see any posts on Badminton Canada’s Instagram announcing that.

Dong/Yakura has sealed their places together with :USA Chiu/Yuan by reaching semifinal of Pan Am Champs

Looks like :SRI will be the first or second to miss out in men's singles. Highly likely though a reallocate spot will eventually land with him

If I’m not mistaken, France could double in men’s singles/doubles, so he’s likely to get that spot.

France won’t double up in men’s singles and doubles. The Popov brothers lost early at the European Championships, which means that Corvee/Labar have secured their spot on the French team.

    • Yes, but Geiger and Wellinger have both achieved some success in major events, while Paschke hasn't. Geiger certainly has a better chance in Cortina than Paschke at now, but it has to be the his decision to withdraw and give a chance to his team- mate. Otherwise, it wouldn't be fair to him. I don't think Horngacher will force him to withdraw.
