Not official yet, but :EGY has pretty much qualified for Paris. Currently playing a fifth set against Finland, if they lose and Tunisia sweeps Turkey it still won’t be enough.  No tournaments left for African nations left either, as none qualified for VNL.

thanks Josh for clarifying that to me earlier, no more tournments for African nations, you were right mate ..I have got a confirmation from VOLLEYBALL FEDERATION

so don’t know why they’re saying that.

To answer the last question from experience with African sports federations:

let’s say it .. if it happened we would be the first people said it… if not .. nobody is taking us seriously anyway 😜

That is incorrect.

@thepharoah  won’t officially be confirmed until June 2024, when the World Ranking period ends, but the quota will pretty much be guaranteed for either team at the end of the OQT. VNL 2024 is the only remaining tournament (after the OQT), and no African nations will be competing.

You know how difficult to get correct information for any African event

the announcement of african games was saying the volleyball is a qualifying event.. since it’s not a direct qualifier for sure that means it will be counted towards ranking (could be totally wrong though)

for challenger cup it was counted towards ranking in 2023 do you know why not in 2024 (or it will be after the cut off date?)

appreciate if you could clarify.. and thanks for your help

so for African quota , will we still wait to African Games 2024 to confirm the qualifier or it'll be done after Olympic Qualification tournament ?

African games and challenger cup both will be counted towards the world ranking

:EGY defeated :JPN 3-2 in a thrilling contest

after :JPN dominating the first two sets 25-14 & 25-10 !!! three consecutive sets to :EGY 25-23, 25-23 & 15-13  to claim a historical win and good boost for the race between them and :TUN as whom would be the best African team in ranking at the end of qualification period

Can anyone tell me the situation in African Olympic qualification ranking. I heard that Tunisia is still leading Ranking despite the fact Egypt won gold in Men's African Championship and Tunisia lost in quarters , as long as Egypt lost to Algeria in Group Stage

that's correct ..it's abit complicated equation function of two teams ranking before the game and probability of winning in addition to the results (3/0 has different points compared to 3/1 ..etc)

as an example :EGY lost 13.94 ponts when lost 3/0 against :ALG  in group stage ..while the final when :EGY won 3/1 they gain 2.59 points ...also note that both :EGY and :TUN lost one game (and ranking is based on match by match not based on title winning nor positions) ..saying that :EGY lost to much lower ranking team compared to :TUN which lost against :CMR

if you are looking for OGQ ..then :EGY should :

1- beat :TUN in OQT

2- trying to beat much higher ranked teams for example :TUR or :SRB

3- don't lose to lower ranked team :FIN

Men's African Volleyball Championship in Egypt :

  1. Quarterfinals
  • Egypt 3 - 0 Morocco
  • Algeria 3 - 0 Rwanda
  • Cameroon 3 - 1 Tunisia
  • Libya 3 - 0 Chad

Semis on Monday :-

  • Egypt 🆚️ Cameroon
  • Algeria 🆚️ Libya

1st 3 teams qualify to WCH in 2025 , Tunisia the last 3 time winner miss qualification to Semis

it means :TUN missed also qualifiation to 2025 world championship, huge disappointment for them. :EGY now has a great chance to top the african ranking if they claim gold in this edition
