To this day I’m still a little confused as to what the plan was for Sanders to get over 50% of the delegates. There was this Twitter meme about how Sanders would be in trouble if he had to face off against the Voltron centrist candidate which was, in hindsight, an accidentally brilliant piece of punditry. Edit: the most prescient political tweet of 2020

Which is why his approval will plummet one Trump's gone like Obama's did after his first election. Obama had 60%+ approval after the election and went below 50% after the first year, had close to the same approval as Trump during the midterms, which gave a massive win for the GOP, the democrats lost the House and lost 6 seats in the Senate. Unless they find a solution to this recession quickly, they will lose power again in 2022, because Trump is just a symptom of the country's deep issues, not the cause. It's a pretty normal thing that the party of the president struggle in the midterm (except for Bush the president has lost in at least one chamber in every midterm election since 1934), that's the way the system is. But looking at the map for the 2022 senate elections nothing seems certain. There are some pretty good chances of flipping seats for both parties. Grassmarket 2,786 Posted October 18, 2020 #6898 Share Posted October 18, 2020 Two weeks till the election, so naturally Joe Biden is going to take a holiday. Nothing to do with having to dodge awkward questions about his corrupt whore-mongering cokehead son, of course - he just wants to catch up with Emily in Paris on Netflix.
