phelps 6,862 Posted July 21, 2018 #11 Share Posted July 21, 2018 The Open, #147 after yesterday's weather did some damages, today it was back to (relatively) easy conditions, which helped some very low daily scores... still, we have a very tight field, with many players definitely not out of contention... the leaders after day #3 are Jordan Spieth, Kevin Kisner and Xander Schauffele...all from and all with a total of -9... another player, Kevin Chappell is 4th with -7 and Francesco "Chicco" Molinari is 5th (and 1st European) with -6, followed by a bunch of guys at -5 (among them the great Tiger Woods, who's going to play the 3rd last flight tomorrow, together with super-Chicco)... full leaderboard is here: https://www.theopen.com/Leaderboard#!/traditional

phelps 6,862 Posted July 22, 2018 #13 Share Posted July 22, 2018 Chiccoooooooooooooooo!!!!! what an amazing afternoon...I just can't stop crying... this is one of the highest point of the Italian sport history and Molinari now is by right one of the best Italian athletes ever... this is a weekend we'll never forget...thanks, Chicco... when the wind comes, Carnoustie becomes Carnasty...and the Americans start having troubles (and the British players start shining)... and this time Molinari looked like a native Briton, remaining the only player in the field without a single bogey in the final 2 rounds, which led him to win The Open #147 with a 2-stroke margin over his immediate followers, Justin Rose, Rory McIlroy, Kevin Kisner and Xander Schauffele... Tiger Woods played very well in the first 10 holes (he was leading the field at that moment), but then he had a bad finish and ended up "only" in 6th place (tied with 2 other players), 3 strokes behind Molinari... here is the historical full final leaderboard: https://www.theopen.com/Leaderboard#!/traditional Monzanator
Agger 1,591 Posted July 22, 2018 #14 Share Posted July 22, 2018 Very happy for Molinari. He has been so close. Italy is thereby the 19th country to win a major (not counting Jersey). Pretty happy about Olesen's 12th place as well. His shape is great and if he keeps it up, he may even have a small chance to make it into team Europe for the Ryder Cup

heywoodu 13,557 Posted September 22, 2018 #17 Share Posted September 22, 2018 The PGA Tour year is being closed this week at the Tour Championship in Atlanta. Tiger Woods is playing very well, tied for the lead with Justin Rose after two days. So far today he is playing brilliantly: three birdies in the first four holes, and a fantastic putt in the 4th, taking him to the lone lead so far. heywoodu 13,557 Posted September 22, 2018 #18 Share Posted September 22, 2018 It's pure golf porn what Woods is showing today. phelps 6,862 Posted September 23, 2018 #19 Share Posted September 23, 2018 finally, a great round for Tiger...he finished with -5 for the day and he's leading the tournament with a 3-stroke margin at -12 total... McIlroy and Rose are tied for second...and this means that he could win the overall tour ranking if De Chambeau doesn't improve by much in the last round (yesterday he had a good 66 and showed some sign of life, but it's not enough yet)... unfortunately, Molinari's not having a good playoff run at all...I hope he's gonna have a better weekend next week at the Ryder Cup (I just can't wait for those 3 magical days)...
