2020/2021 Hockey season ended just a couple of days ago...

 

but, hey, man! we're already into the new sason! 

 

 

KHL revealed their 2021/2022 schedule   

 

the new campaign will start on September, 1st with the classic season opener between last year's finalists, CSKA Moscow @ Avangard Omsk (in Balashika)...

 

among the news, for the 1st time since the Lokomotiv's air disaster, a game will be played on september 7th, which this year marks the 10th anniversary...

 

and it will happen because it was the Yaroslavl's team itself that asked to host a home game to celebrate that day as it deserves (they will host Dinamo Minsk)...

Drama! Disaster! Tragedy!

 

NHL.tv is going to close down...

 

and if for most people from the Hockey Nations this isn't a big problem (you all have the games on multiple tv channels), for fans living in Countries where hockey isn't exactly the most popular sport, this might end up in the end of an era...the end of a passion...the end of everything...   

 

it looks that ESPN Player would eventually be the place to go for us, but most likely the service won't be as comprehensive as it was on the specific app (double feed home & away, often the French feed, too..."condensed" -10 min extended highlights- games, extra content...that's surely gone) and above all, right now they don't have a reliable app for connected devices, which makes very uncomfortable to follow their offer -basically, a cell phone and a chromecast are the only way to escape the small mobile devices screen or the PC screen viewing...

 

I didn't really expect such kind of betrayal by the NHL...

first European league to start this season, the  Belarussian Extraliga...

 

today it's the opening day and we have 3 matches on the schedule...

3 days after leading Slovakia to the Olympics Peter Cehlárik excelled in the new season KHL opening game Omsk-CSKA with 2 goals and an assist, he scored the first goal of the whole season already after 4 minutes. Omsk won 4-0 in the season opener.

it's just game 1 of of a very long season...don't worry, at the end of the campaign we're gonna be at the bottom of the pile as usual...

So IIHF has decided to have women's Worlds in Olympic years as well and quickly claimed that Denmark is going to host it next year.

 

Denmark however has so far only shown interest and is still looking into whether they can make it happen.
