heywoodu 15,135 Posted November 1, 2016 #2 Share Posted November 1, 2016 Elizabeth Yarnold and Kim Meylemans have said they are planning on boycotting the 2017 WCh if they're not moved away from Sochi. Well, Yarnold left the option to boycott open, Meylemans said she'll boycott for sure if it's not moved. .
heywoodu 15,135 Posted November 3, 2016 #3 Share Posted November 3, 2016 Katie Tannenbaum (ISV) won't be going neither if the WCH will be held in Russia and the Dukurs brothers have expressed doubts through their coach/dad (who won't go to Sochi) as well. This is picking up interest.. .

The bobsleigh and skeleton world championships will be held in Sochi this winter. More and more athletes are talking about boycotting it since the IOC said Russia shouldn't organize any major championships for now after the state-sponsored doping scandal (there apparently also is the pathetic, Middle Age-like homophobia that nobody with a decent mind would be ok with, but I think the doping thing is the biggest thing). dcro 10,210 Posted November 3, 2016 #9 Share Posted November 3, 2016 Not to be disrespectful, but I don't think many people care if someone like Kim Meylemans or Katie Tannenbaum boycotts. #banbestmen

Possibly, although we are talking about a top-10 athlete in the world then. But as you might see above, they are not the only names Yarnold, Dukurs, Dukurs, Deas..those are big names. .
