  1. Also, while it's great to have new nations, we must remember rule 6. (a) which was introduced for this edition. Any participant must have been registered on the forum at least 2 months before they take part in the contest OR (in case they don't fulfill this criteria) have shown a high level of activity in the forum in terms of posts and presence. Unfortunately that's not the case here.
  2. Provisional Medal Count after Day 2 here. Only one new country (South Korea) entered the medal table after yesterday.
  3. Only day 2 and Slovakia almost surpassing the performance from Sochi!
  4. Very interesting race. Cnossen gets a silver in Cross-Country after a gold in Biathlon yesterday. Sin Eui Hyun wins the first medal for the home nation, and only the third in history for South Korea (also the first since 2010). And of course, amazing 6th Place for Ribera
  5. And north korean fans are back
  6. Good luck to brazilian Cristian Ribera, the youngest athlete at these Games
  7. Hugo Calderano just reached the final of the Qatar Open beating Boll, Harimoto and Lin Gaoyuan in the process
  8. Some images from team Brazil in PyeongChang
  9. Nice to see 15 nations* with medals in the first day, including Belgium which hasn't won a medal since 1994. Pretty hard to beat the record of 25 nations from that edition, though, since we had much more events at Lillehammer. *I don't think Neutral Paralympic Athlethes are considered a nation, though.
  10. This victory ceremony without a podium (and a mascot) is kinda lame?
  11. As expected, first gold of the Games goes to Slovakia
  12. The Games have started with the first Alpine Skiing event. Official site has live channels with all events.
  13. So again no Africa? (last time was 2010, I think)
  14. Honestly I think it depends on the user. Since this is a "song" contest, the video shouldn't matter that much. Personally, I don't care one bit about the video.
  15. A few hours to the Oscars, I leave my predictions here. This was mostly a disappointing year for cinema in my opinion, and the first time in some years I didn't watch more than 95% of the nominees (mainly because I didn't had the time). Anyway, here's my picks, and I hope to do better than 17/24 of last year - I did this in a hurry so don't mind possible mistakes. ["will win" is my prediction / "could win" is my alternate prediction / "should win" is my personal ranking from what I've watched / "shoud have been nominated" it's a way to remember other notable movies]. Edited with correct predictions. Managed to get the same score of last year (17/24), missing 7 categories. I picked the correct winner as the "alternate" prediction in 6 of those. The only one who was really surprising for me was Heaven is a Traffic Jam on the 405 winning Documentary Short (but it's a great little film and the best of this category, so I'm glad it won). Three Billboards underperforming and Blade Runner 2049 overperforming killed my predictions. Boring ceremony, almost no surprises, and I would prefer Get Out winning Best Picture - but at least wasn't Three Billboards.
  16. Exactly, don't know why people think we're gonna lose the south american quota. On the other hand, I think we won't qualify any team in Basketball and might miss 1 (or both) in Handball.
  17. The time has come! After the Winter Olympic frenzy, now the Totallympics' users can select the songs that will compete for the title at the upcoming Annual International Song Contest in Brazil. Not only for the nations registered so far, but also for other Totallympics' users (National Jury registration remains open), it's time to know the songs that will take part in the 10th overall edition of our music contests. We hope you will join us in Brazil 2018!
  18. So far, the Registered Nations list (here) is looking good with 33 countries so far. We hope some others will join us in the next days.
  19. I love Serena, but this award was really ludicrous - the nomination itself was also questionable. Some really bad choices this year.
  20. I took @Werloc's comments very seriously, so there's been indeed some discussion about Algeria's registration in the contest. Not only I talked with @OlympicIRL and @Sindo about this, but also with @bestmen himself. That's why I didn't include Algeria's name in the list of registered nations before (although we have added for now). First of all, there's a portion of our of the Totallympics Song Contests Official Rulebook that talks specifically about the conduct of participarts, including: Anyone is allowed to your own opinions, of course, but no one should disrespect other members/nations when discussing things in this thread (or any thread, for that matter). We recognize that our conduct towards some users in the past may have been "light", but let me assure one thing: we won't have any tolerance for such comments here and, if this happen, not only they will be deleted, but also may be used as base for further suspensions. We really hope things will run smoothly in this edition, after all the Totallympics Song Contest is supposed to be fun and, in a way, bring together our users. Also, as the "president" of the organizing committee, you guys can contact me via PM for any questions regarding our contest.
