  1. 3 golds and 13 medals, that's not that bad.
  2. I have seen Copa América broadcasts using labels like "Copa America" and "Luis Suarez"...
  3. 2021 Men's World Series: September 18-19: Vancouver September 25-26: Edmonton October 29-30: Singapore November 5-7: Hong Kong December 3-4: Dubai December 10-12: Cape Town 2021 Women's World Series: October TBC: Paris November 5-7: Hong Kong December 3-4: Dubai December 10-12: Cape Town
  4. Next weekend it's UFC 265 at Houston, Texas. The main fight will be Derrick Lewis vs Ciryl Gane, the #2 and #3 heavyweight contenders. The co-main fights are José Aldo vs Pedro Munhoz (#5 and #9 in bantamweight), and Michael Chiesa vs Vicente Luque (#5 and #6 in welterweight).
  5. Thread bump! Last weekend on Bellator 263 at the Los Angeles Forum, A.J. McKee defeated Pitbull Freire on the first round, and won the featherweight title. Usman Nurmagomedov and Islam Mamedov won their lightweight fights.
  6. In the group phase, Canada was the worst 3rd placed team by just 3 points! Quarter-finals matchups: United States vs Australia China vs Serbia Japan vs Belgium France vs Spain
  7. Bright side: Marca Claro publishes hundreds of highlights videos on YouTube for Hispanic American fans. Dark side: the titles and sample images of every highlights video spoil the results.
  8. Road cycling should have a mixed relay race, on an urban course with tight corners.
  9. In athletics, Maria Pía Fernández got injured the day before her heat race. She ran anyway and finished the race. In sailing, Lola Moreira finished 22nd in the overall rankings, and Defazio/Knüppel finished 18th.
  10. Déborah Rodríguez did 2'01.76 at the 800 m semifinals. Emiliano Lasa did 7.95 m at the long jump, missing the finals by 1 cm!
  11. ¡Felicitaciones por el oro!
  12. Thread bump! Mexico has two bronze medals so far: Luis Álvarez / Alejandra Valencia in mixed team archery. Gabriela Agúndez / Alejandra Orozco in women's synchronized 10 m diving. The women's softball team finished 4th, with wins over Italy (5-0) and Australia (4-1), and defeats over United States (2-0), Japan (3-2) and Canada (4-0 & 3-2).
  13. Thread bump! At the Tokyo Olympics, Luis Javier Mosquera got the silver medal at 67 kg weightlifting, just 1 kg behind Chen Lijun. In BMX racing, Mariana Pajón couldn't get her third gold medal, and was silver by 0.1 seconds. Carlos Ramírez repeated a bronze medal.
  14. You are likely not to get any gold medal, am I right?
  15. In swimming, Enzo Martínez did 22.52 at the 50 m freestyle, just 0.08 seconds off his national record.
  16. In judo, Mikael Aprahamian lost in round of 32 to Robin Pacek in golden time. In sailing, Lola Moreira finished 22nd, with a best result of 10th at the 9th regatta. Defazzio/Knüppel have also had poor results so far.
  17. In rowing, Cetraro/Klüver did 6'11.48 at the semifinals and finished 2nd! At the final, they were last with 6'24.21. In athletics, Déborah Rodríguez did 2'00.90, just 0.7 seconds off her record, and advanced to the semifinals
  18. I was eager to share highlights videos across the different Reddit communities I'm on. But people started complaining that the videos were geo-locked. Marca Claro has the rights for Hispanic America, so I understand that those videos aren't available in North America and Europe. But the issue also happened with videos on the Olympics official channel! Then I realized that the highlights videos in that channel are narrated in Spanish (I guess with Marca Claro announcers), and many of them focus on Hispanic American teams. So the IOC is pushing highlights targeted to different regions of the world, which is nice. But there's no standard highlights (maybe with ambient audio?) open for everyone to enjoy together, which is sad.
  19. The coverage of the peloton road cycling races had graphics with the usual lead, chase and peloton time gaps. The triathlon races didn't, so it was much harder to follow.
  20. In rowing, Cetraro/Klüver did 6'36.87 at the repechage, finishing 3rd by 0.08 seconds, so they are into the top 12! In swimming, Nicole Frank did 2'18.93 at the 200 m individual medley, or 0.7 seconds above her best time.
  21. Well, it turns out that Marca Claro has a full set of free YouTube streams across Hispanic America.
  22. La selección masculina de vóley le está ganando a Brasil. En otra noticias, a la esgrimista Belén Perez le propusieron matrimonio.
  23. An Argentine fencer was proposed marriage by her partner and coach during an interview.
  24. Cetraro/Klüver did 6'42.85 at their heat, about 20 seconds off the top 2. In a few hours they will compete at the repechage. Lola Moreira will also compete tonight.
