  1. The US does have some “unique” chants. We have the “I believe that we will win” chant for football.
  2. If people are consenting to use their bodies in such ways is it sexual exploitation then? Sex trafficking should definitely be squashed by every country, but it is different than Prostitution.
  3. My bad. I didn’t noticed someone had vetoed that conversation. The website doesn’t always update properly for me.
  4. Did I say “sex trafficking”? No, I said prostitution. I understand the line between the two is often blurred, but people willingly choosing to be sex workers are offering a service like any other profession.
  5. Definitely Iran. I remember them going batshit crash after the WR lift in Anaheim. I have a video of that somewhere... There’s is “(three horn honks) Iran! (pronounced Ear-ron) multiple times in a row” At least our fans cheer though. The Dutch fans always seem super quiet.
  6. Also @heywoodu complains about “USA! USA! USA!”, when all you could hear the entire 2018 Asian Games was “Indonesia! (little clap beat) Indonesia! (little clap beat) Indonesia! (little clap beat)”
  7. Prostitution is a fair line of work though. However, I can see how brands might not want to be associated with someone in the sex industry.
  8. They have a right to protect their brand those. It’s same situation with NASCAR after that driver used the n-word, the the Korean football league after a team filled seats with sex dolls. It generates poor publicly, and it can harm the public image. These actions have real damaging effects on institutions. That said, I believe (most) everyone deserves a second chance. I also think that issues like this should be handled on a case to case basis.
  9. Best of luck to my Brazilian friends. May the worst country “win.” I’m almost certain we’re going to see a rise here, but some people have actually managed to somehow control this thing in the U.S.
  10. I laughed out loud when I saw this: How do you respond to these accusations @Werloc and @Bearas? I fully expected to see people call out American, Russian, and Chinese fans, but Lithuania was an unexpected surprise
  11. Talk about an infectious disease...
  12. Yeah, I saw the IPC were paying respects on their social media today. Seems like there have been quite a few noteworthy deaths this month.
  13. Yeah, I’m a little disappointed in him. The GOP has decided to rally around their collective disbelief in science, medicine, and research again. The best way to deal with them is to put out guidelines people who believe in science will follow, and then let those idiots die in the hospital. I think our governor got too concerned about the economy. He just didn’t want to deal with the blowback from a terrible economic situation. I guess we’ll see what happens in the next few weeks. Hopefully cases don’t go up dramatically.
  14. Trump will end National Guard deployment on May 24. Why is that a big deal? Members of the National Guard were first deployed 89 days prior. If they were to be on active duty for 90 days or more they would receive benefits like early retirement, and have their college education paid for by the government. What a shity person you have to be to leave states without workers, and to purposely take benefits away from some of our most dedicated frontline workers. Shame.
  15. It’s not that type of secret (I hope). I’m just really don’t know what I’m allowed to share about project, and I’d prefer not to get kicked out.
  16. Got an email from the Head of Client Services at Swiss Timing today. It seems like I might be able to complete my collection soon (well not fully, fricken MSL went it of business as few years ago, and that’s just been a pain in my ass for some games from 2009-2011).
  17. Yes/No. I don’t know what I’m allowed to say, but there are people working on that.
  18. I think I’d be okay. I wouldn’t make those archives publicly available without the consent of the host broadcaster. It would just be me preserving them for historical purposes, which is protected under US law.
  19. Can you only watch the video in YouTube, or can you download it to a desktop of cloud and watch it elsewhere?
  20. How large was the file on something like that? I’ve been loosely thinking about making permanent archives of the footage of multi-sports games. It’s about the only thing I’m not truly saving and storing at this point
  21. YouTube Premium or another method?
  22. Bangladesh would probably be the worst of India, Bangladesh, Myanmar, but all the rural areas and slums will be hit hard. Refugee areas will easily be the worst if be the coast though.
  23. My biggest issue is that I’m still working on my degree. My cover letters make it clear that I have the knowledge required, and my CV shows some experience, but the lack of a degree is a killer obviously. That will change next time this year when I get my Associates (2 year degree), and the in 2023 when I get my Bachelors in Communication Studies.
  24. No, but I only applied for a temporary position for Tokyo 2020, which obviously didn’t pan out given the Covid-19 situation. I check everyone once-in-a-while, so if a position I qualify for becomes available, then I’ll apply again. I check ITG, IGBS, ISB, and IFs somewhat often as well. Ideally, I could land a job with Birmingham 2022 (no luck so far), or Lake Placid 2023.
